Overview
About Me
Hi there! I’m Maryam, a recent QUT graduate who spent several years juggling studies at TAFE and QUT. After the graduation cap toss, I’m now on a journey of rest and adventure. I love embracing the great outdoors, whether it’s hiking up mountains, dancing to local beats, or even skydiving for that adrenaline rush.
I’m passionate about connecting with locals and sharing cultural experiences, so I’m always up for a good chat and cultural exchange. Over the next six months, you’ll find me exploring the vibrant streets of Istanbul, Shanghai, and Kuala Lumpur.
Looking forward to meeting new friends and creating unforgettable memories along the way!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In terms of meeting people and making long-lasting friendships, Couchsurfing is a great way for me to meet new people. Up until a few years ago, I was a member of Couchsurfing and I had some good friends from various countries, but I was unable to retrieve my account.🙆🏻♀️

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I’m a huge jazz enthusiast and find myself drawn to its soulful melodies. That said, I’m open to all music genres from the powerful energy of metal to the calming notes of classical. It’s all about the right vibe at the right time!
Movies: I love a good laugh, so comedy films are always a go-to. I also enjoy the thrill of action movies, and every now and then, I’ll dive into a compelling drama.
Books: I’m a casual reader who enjoys a good story now and then. Whether it’s a fun travel memoir, an easygoing novel, or a light-hearted non-fiction, I’m all about books that entertain and inspire without being too heavy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Skydiving, bungee jumping 🤩
Through Couchsurfing, I was able to cycle through three countries in one month and meet many positive people.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you are interested, I can teach you how to speak the Persian language; I am so keen to learn new things from my friends in Couchsurfing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
It is unfortunate to say that I live in a student accommodation here in Brisbane, and I am not allowed to host anyone here 🙆🏻♀️
