Hi, my name is Andrea. I just finished school in northern Norway, where I learned about arctic tourism. After two years of a certain virus going around, I am eager to go on as many adventures as i can. So i bought an interrail ticket with my friend Kim, and we will soon be traveling.

I love traveling to new places and meeting all kinds of people, and this is all to broaden my mind and to break cultural barriers. When i travel i love the nature aspect of every place, even if it is restricted. I am very interested in plants and biology, and this fall i will be studying nature and environmental management at UNI in the south of Norway. My most favorite activity in the summer is hiking up mountains with my grandpa and looking for beautiful flowers and plants. Me and my dad also go on many snowmobiling trips, or on skiis. I love skiing or walking in the forest. I am from Lillehammer (Olympic city 94') So there is lots to do in my town both winter and summer!

During the pandemic i realized how much i need people around me, and being social. I went mad being alone in my home all day. I realized i was more of an extrovert. But sometimes i feel like an complete introvert, so it really depend on my mood and confidence level that day. But he point is that i do indeed enjoy the company of people, and i am excited to meet new friends!

Current travel plans: Interrail with my friend Kim. 10th-24th. Cozy streets and murmuring city life is something i am excited for this summer.

Latest travels with my arctic tourism class: Traveled all over Finnmark, Sapmi, Lofoten, Finland, Vardø, Vadsø, Tromsø, Nordkyn, Hurtigruta, Bugøynes, Kirkenes and Svalbard.

I am not accepting guests because i live with my parents at the moment, and they do not want to host. I will definitely host when i get my own apartment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling to new places and explore. Meeting all sorts of people and hearing their stories and interests. Couch surfing makes this so much easier! I bought a interrail ticket with a friend this spring, and we learnt from two very smart Germans that you could use couch surfing on all your travels! Thanks to them i decided to make my profile, and have a go at it. I also love the idea of "slow travel" and i want to be more environmentally conscious on all my journeys.

We have decided on only capitals for this trip! We have lived a whole year out in a small village in the far north of Norway next to the Russian border. Now we are desperate for some city life! Here are the dates:

Gouda: 16-18th
Amsterdam: 18th-21th
Helsingoer: 21th-24th

Interests

I am trying to learn Russian. It is not going so well... I am also really interested in learning your local language, and discussing dialects and differences.

In the summer and winter i love hiking in nature, and i will be studying environment at uni this fall. I want to make nature my office space☘️ Skiing is something i do all winter, and some snowmobiling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like pop, rock, dance, house and hip hop music. I like Dojacat... But also some grunge music! Variation is key, whatever scratches my brain you know. I have some CDs and vinyls.

Movies: I am a huge studio Ghibli fan, and movies like Ponyo and Only Yesterday that bring me inner peace. I love the soundtrack of these movies. I also like Mamma Mia, Mean Girls and Legally Blonde, because they are iconic! I also do enjoy Marvel, Hunger Games, The Lord of the Rings aaaand the list never stops.

Series: I have watched too many. They destroy my life. Loved peaky blinder tho! and the crown. and a million others.

Books: Factual books, preferably about birds or plants. History. Maybe a good novel now and then. Not that i ever finish reading a book...📚 And i love moomin. can't forget about them moomins.

Hiked up a mountain with huge blisters. It was not fun going up, but the view was great. The ride down was amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have learnt that you should never judge a book by its cover. I am working to be less judgmental and approach everyone with an open mind.

I can teach you all about Norwegian mountain plants, lichens, my language, culture and much more. i also like discussing politics and oh so many issues in the world. I would also love to talk about the wonders. if there is some snow laying around i can of course be your personal ski-instructor.

I can also teach you know that there is no point to verifying your visa card on couchsurfing, because they will charge 68 euros for it.
