¡Hola!

My name is Álvaro Sánchez and I am 18 years old. I speak fluent English and Spanish and basic French. I can also understand Portuguese.

I was born and raised in Sevilla, the biggest city in the province of Andalucía, in the south of Spain. I moved to the US (New Mexico, more specifically) for a couple years to finish high school at UWC-USA and I am now studying Anthropology and Sociology in Amsterdam.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling and have been to countries in Europe, Africa and the Americas. I also love the organizational aspect of planing and budgeting a trip and how to find the most affordable and efficient travel routes and accommodation. I also love showing people around where I live and around places that are of importance to me.

Interests

I love practicing yoga and the philosophy behind it, as well as cooking, writing poetry and photography. I also play tennis and love reading and watching documentaries.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books are "Lord of the Flies" by William Goulding and "Platero y yo" by Juan Ramón Jiménez. My favorite poets are Federico García Lorca and Sylvia Plath. My favorite movies are Taxi driver by Scorsese and "La ley del deseo" by Almodóvar.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to teach you Spanish and I would also love to learn new languages. I also love cooking and I would love to teach you how to cook my favorite spanish recipes (paella, gazpacho, pisto, tortilla...) and to learn any nice new recipes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live in a studio in Amsterdam 15 minures away from the city center using the free ferries that run all day long. I have a second bed on which two more people fit and I'd love to host anyone!
