Overview
About Me
I am a world traveler and forever student of philosophy. I love nature and adventure. Helping others partake in adventure is my cause! I have been traveling for 5 years now, constantly learning about the world and myself. Seeing the world w an open heart is important, and also allows for opportunities you’d never have otherwise… a big reason I’m here, on couchsurfing!
People tell me I’m super unique and talented at talking to people… many of these people are travel companions who I go into obscure places with, and partake in conversations with random locals with whom we hitch hike or just stand around with. Honestly, I just find other people fascinating! That’s why I approach people.
I’m super sociable but also find that a person with whom you can maintain a comfortable silence is a good match for friendship. I’m a mixture of extroverted and introspective, a lover of joking around and speaking about meaningful things. We are all just trying to figure out life, so why not take it easy and enjoy the ride?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is an opportunity to get acquainted w local life far more intimately than hostel or hotel living. CS hosts and community are also super unique by nature, I really enjoy the general outlook on travel that most people here have. No all inclusive resorts, just figuring out how to relate to the rest of the world while traveling.
Also, I’m a budget traveler by sport! Not necessity. I’d love to talk about how you travel, about hacks for anything from airline tickets to lodging to transportation. Travel is my life, something I think about every day. I’m here to share what I know about travel and to learn from others.

Music, Movies, and Books
Bluegrass music, adventure movies, and anything philosophic or existential.
Many of the books I read are nonfiction.
A lot of the music I listen to might make you think I’m a hill billy, but how could you not love a good ‘ol banjo tune…
Movies are what I watch to fall asleep… and can also recite half of the lines in Django Unchained & Anchorman. 🤷
I also love literature analysis. A book is sooo much better with deep themes and characters to learn from.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Overcome childhood leukemia.
Diagnosed age 6.
2.5 years of chemo.
Done since age 10.
Let’s get drunk if you really want to hear about this experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach philosophy and English. I like learning about local geography and exploration adventures. I love sharing experiences. I can share my adventures from the past five years of travel, and how my life experiences impact my philosophic views. I can also share deep conversations or light banter, both are great sources of happiness to me!
Ultimately, I feel like this is what CS is for: impactful interactions. Some of the best, most carefree stays I’ve had while traveling came from CS. I love sitting down over a few drinks, with a great view, or even on a comfy couch and socializing. Natural conversation is one of the best ways to learn about people and the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share stories, company, language exchange, I can share good company and light hearted banter as well as deep conversations. I can share my extensive knowledge of classical philosophy, share good humor, and share mediocre cooking.
