I am a 24 year old veterinary medicine student living in Munich, Germany.
Currently I am in the final year of my studies, which is the practical year. Since I am very passionate about nature and wildlife conservation and am aspiring to work as a wildlife veterinarian in whatever country that fascinates me the most, I am using my practical year to do as many externships in that field as possible. Because I am interested in all the different animal species all around the globe and I also love traveling, exploring new places and getting to know different people, I decided to do various externships abroad. So at the moment I am a traveling veterinary student searching for a place to stay at during my externships in different wildlife hospitals in different parts of the world. Therefore I just created a Couchsurfing profile and am already very excited to visit new places and meet amazing people!
In my free time I like to enjoy nature by going hiking, kayaking, birdwatching and visiting all the national parks close by. Since I grew up in a city, I on the other hand also like to stroll through the city, get a cup of coffee and enjoy the sun as well as nice conversations. Cooking is furthermore also one of my favorite things to do besides reading books, listening to podcasts or music and dancing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a traveling veterinary student interested in all the exciting animal species all around the globe, I'm curious to explore as many amazing places in this world as possible.
Furthermore I believe that traveling and connecting with different people is the antidote to ignorance and prejudices and thus makes the world a better place.
Without platforms like Couchsurfing many people could not afford the opportunity to learn about different countries, cultures and ecosystems and that way this important and fun exchange couldn't happen.
Moreover I think that travelers can experience places in a much more authentic way alongside locals.
That's why I'm very grateful to be part of this community.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music I listen to many different genres and am always excited to listen to something new, but my all time favorites include Afrobeat like Burna Boy and Reggaeton like J Balvin. And I will always remain a huge fan of Beyonce.
Concerning movies I prefer funny movies like e.g. the remake of Jumanji, but sometimes I'm also in the mood for action. For example I was totally addicted to Money Heist.
My favorite books include authors like Adichie, John Green, Liv Strömquist, Reni Eddo-Lodge, Florence Given etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year I did an externship at the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust in Uganda, Africa.
It was absolutely fascinating to work with these amazing and intelligent animals up close and being involved in conservation efforts since chimpanzees in the wild and their habitat are endangered.
During my time at the Sanctuary I also got to know many amazing people with whom I am still in contact up to now. Besides creating friendships I also learned a lot about all the different cultures and languages as well as how to cook a few traditional Ugandan dishes.

Teach, Learn, Share

As a vet student interested in wildlife I love talking about different animal species and how to save them from becoming extinct.
Furthermore I believe that a part of who we are as persons is defined by the people we surround ourselves with as well as the books we read. Thus I'm a big fan of exchanging books and then having inspiring conversations about them preferably in combination with a glass of wine.
In general I enjoy conversations about all kinds of topics. I think in conversations with different people everyone can always teach as well as at the same time learn something from the other.
Cooking together and exchanging recipes is also one of my favorite things to do.
Since I like to take dance classes, I would also be happy to teach anyone who likes a few steps or learn new ones as well.
