Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Javier. I'm a 24 year-old student from Chile. I'm currently at the penultimate year of my college studies to obtain my degree certificate as "Pharmacist". I live in the Lakeside district of southern Chile, a region full of dozens of lakes, volcanoes and national parks.
In my spare time, I really enjoy hiking, exercise (running and calisthenics), watching films and series, practicing languages and cooking. I'm a very talkative, spontaneous, laid-back person. Yet, I'm very organised and responsible. I love the simple things of live: a good conversation, a brief walk, a nice home-made meal, etc.
Also, I deeply enjoy meeting new people from all over the world and to share their lifestories. I'm always up to any plan you might thing of: from an invitation to just go for a walk around the town during springtime, to an unplanned 5-day trip to go hiking in Patagonia in summer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel. I've already traveled a lot within my country (Chile) and abroad. But the times I've done it, It's been the typical tourist trip where you visit the must-see of a city and then go back to your hotel at the end of the day, with virtually zero interaction with its people and/or culture. That's why I joined Couchsurfing, because I'm going to start travelling again. But this time, I want to do it differently and meet the people from the places I visit, so that I can truly experience the local culture and lifestyle, and for that, I think Couchsurfing is the best way to do so.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite film: the trilogy of "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit".
Favorite book: "Cien años de soledad" by Gabriel García Márquez.
Favorite music: I don't have one. If the song is nice, I'll be dancing and singing the hell out of it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent the night at a remote lagoon located high up in the Andes of southern Chile, where the night sky was so clear and pure, that the stars of the Milky Way reflected on it, creating one of the most beautiful scenes I've ever witnessed. Getting to this place was not a piece of cake, less so with my hiking equipment and the 2500 ft (750 m) of elevation gain. Nonetheless, It was 100% worth it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach spanish, french, italian, english and portuguese to anybody who'd like to learn those languages or just have a conversation in one of those to practice the knowledge they might already have.
I'd love to share with you the culture of my country (Chile) and that of the Latino people as well.
