Overview
About Me
My name is Colm, I am 26. I guess curiousity is my main drive and what leads my life. Generalist!
CURRENT STATUS
Since four years, I have been living in Europe. Currently nomad, but Berlin is home.
If I could summarize myself in one word, it would be Curiousity.
I'm not the type to hit the tourist sites when I go to a place, I prefer discovering what it is really like to live in a city and connecting with locals, especially considering our different cultures, ethnicities, religions, etc., with which I can learn from. I love going to various neighbourhoods with my camera. I would describe my style of photography as raw, street, life (ideally).
Some of my key values are vulnerability, openness, laughter, and positivity (within limits). These psychological topics are things I can discuss for hours on end.
You can check out my instagram to get a better idea of me. You won’t find many photos of me on there, mostly my friends. that’s how I like to keep it :) instagram.com/colmofu
FOR HOSTS
For those that mind to know, I am double vaccinated and boosted from coronavirus. I don’t smoke. I also do not eat meat, though it of course does not bother me if someone eats it in front of me (you do you!).
One last thing - when I travel, I am not a huge partier and I prefer to go to bed early, usually before midnight. I’m an early riser :) Of course, I’m happy to go for a beer in a relaxed, alternative bar, where i can have a nice conversation with you or your friends. That’s beautiful and I love it!
FOR GUESTS/REQUESTS
I like using Couchsurfing here and there! And people from all walks of life, genders, sexual orientations, ethnicities, cultures, religions, etc. are very welcome at mine. Except ofc those that are discriminatory in one of the above categories (etc), please do not request.
But I also encourage people to think about if we are a good fit interests/personality-wise before sending a request. So please give my profile a read and mention something we might share!
A little bit of autonomy from both sides goes a long way. The best CS experiences are when we feel like roommates rather than tourist and tour guide :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To connect with like-minded others and hear about their cultures! to me, this is a lot more fun than a hostel or Airbnb. 🌞
Hopefully, we can share a bit from each other’s lives and walk away happier :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Fan of almost everything. Hanging around the house, it's acid jazz, psychedelic rock, dream pop. Think Beach House and Kevin Morbry. If I'm going out or working, techno - momentarily I'm obsessed with ghetto tech
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach mindfulness practices (not a certified teacher), various sports (running, roundnet, basketball, football), and English. SO happy to learn anything! Languages, dancing, art, you name it. I can teach a bit about photography/photo-editing, but I have more to learn than to teach. And will share happily from my culture and experiences.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories, a laugh (I tried my hand at standup comedy once or twice), and some vegetarian/vegan cooking! 🌱
