About Me:
Hello there, I'm glad you made it to my profile. I'm Ben a 20-year-old student from Germany. In my free time, I enjoy playing the guitar, going to the gym or listening to podcasts/audiobooks. There is one thing I genuinely love most and that's making meaningful connections with inspiring people across the globe. I believe that traveling is not just about seeing new places but also about experiencing them through local eyes and really diving into the country's culture and spirit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing:
I joined Couchsurfing to immerse myself in the local culture of the places I visit and to meet like-minded individuals who share my enthusiasm for travel and cultural exchange. Whether I'm surfing a couch, I look forward to exchanging stories, learning new perspectives, and creating lasting friendships - building genuine and authentic connections is the most rewarding experience one can have in my opinion.

Current Mission:
In the last couple months I fell in love with Norway. It might sound weird but so far I have never actually been to Norway. However based on experiences from friends and what I've seen online I feel a deep connection to that country and I want to immerse myself into the culture and see how I really like it. I want to learn Norsk, experience the stunning landscape and see how Norwegian people live and think. I know, I'm young and maybe too naive but I want to follow my gut feeling because it just feels right to do so. So if you're Norwegian and read this far, I hope I haven't scared you off with my (maybe exaggerated) passion.

Interests:
- Cultural exchange: I love learning about different ways of life, traditions, and history.
- Adventure activities: Whether it's hiking, skiing or exploring off-beaten paths, I'm always up for an adventure.

My Travel Style:
As a traveler, I'm easy-going, respectful, and always eager to help out. I travel light and enjoy both planned itineraries and spontaneous adventures. I am adaptable to different living situations and always ensure to respect the space and rules of my hosts. I know, this might sound cliché or copy paste but that's definitely what I stand for.

Hosting Experience:
I never had the chance to experience what it's like to host someone here on Couchsurfing to be honest. Nevertheless I will probably host other people in the future when I have a decent accommodation that's bigger than 10 square meters. I think it's a great gift to give back to the community and that's the only way something awesome like Couchsurfing can work.

Couchsurfing Experience:
I’ve had a Couchsurfing-like experience in Toronto last year, where I stayed with someone I met in the city for a couple days. He isn’t on Couchsurfing so I can’t give you a reference for that. From this experience I knew that I want to do it again. It has been a great exchange and both sides gained a lot from it. I could sleep in his living room on the floor which was totally fine, I was just grateful to have a roof over my head.

What I Can Share with Hosts:
- Stories from my travels and takes and learnings from my personal experience and maybe just another perspective.
- A helping hand in the kitchen or with household chores.
- Language exchange, if you're interested in learning German.

I love playing the guitar in my free time. It helps me relax, Process difficult events or just being in the moment.

I also play chess, got to the gym and love playing cards or board games with friends.

Books, podcasts and audiobooks also play a huge role in my life. Sometimes I spend hours diving into a book and I totally forget about the time. One day my goal is to read a book in Norsk.

Jedna niesamowita rzecz, którą zrobiłem(-am)

When I was in Canada I worked at Moraine Lake. Together with a friend we had the opportunity to experience the sunset directly from the lake in a canoe. The water was as smooth as glass and apart from a couple birds tweeting you couldn’t hear a sound. Seeing the sun slowly rising over the mountain peeks definitely changed my life. It humbled me and made me feel grateful at the same time.

I’d love to share stories from my travels so far. I’ve made so many amazing memories and would love to share my learnings and insights with you (if you want).

I think I’m a great listener too. If you would meet me in public, most of the time I’m rather quiet and observe at first. If I get to know someone more I start to open up much more.
