Hello, I'm Nur, 21 years old. I was born in Turkey and I am studying at university in Istanbul, Turkey's most famous and crowded city. I have been staying as an erasmus student in Bari, Italy since March. My first experience of going abroad was when I went to the Czech Republic with my team for the Formula Student race, one of the most important engineering competitions, in summer of 2021 . After living my first abroad experience like this, I loved meeting new people, discovering places I had never seen before, getting lost in the streets so much that I came to Europe again with Erasmus program. Since I came to Italy, I have visited 6 countries and I continue to travel. I love listening to music from different languages, the adventures of other travelers, and learning about the history of the places I've visited.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting people from different cultures and learning the history of the places I visit. When my friend suggested Couchsirfing, I realized that it would be an app that could be very helpful to a traveler like me. With Couchsurfing, I think that I can meet locals in the places I visit and have the opportunity to get first-hand information. In this way, I think that I will feel closer to the city and people I visit, where I can get a lot of information that is not written on the websites. In addition, I think that Bari, the city I live in, is full of beauties, although it is not one of the first cities that come to mind when Italy is mentioned, and I am really excited to show people beauty of Bari.
