About Me
Heyheey!
I’m Anđela, a 25-year-old history nerd originally from Serbia, now living on the Slovenian coast.
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by the world beyond my window. While other kids were watching cartoons, I was glued to History Channel and National Geographic, lost in stories about ancient civilizations, forgotten cities, different cultures, and people living lives completely different from mine. I didn’t just watch those shows — I imagined myself there, walking through ruins, listening to local stories, learning how people lived, thought, and shaped their worlds.
That childhood curiosity never really left me — it just grew up with me.
Now, with a little more freedom than the kid in front of the TV, I’m finally doing what I used to dream about. I explore new places slowly, learning history from the streets, landscapes, and people themselves. I love traveling in a simple, real way — hitchhiking, taking local buses, choosing the slower road, and letting the journey shape the experience. Those are the moments where you meet amazing people, share stories, and feel truly connected to a place.
I’m happiest when history, people, and nature come together. I love hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors — mountains, forests, coastlines — anywhere I can walk for hours, breathe deeply, and feel small in the best possible way. Some of my favorite memories are a mix of all of it: wandering through an old town after a long hike, cooking simple food at a campsite, watching sunsets in quiet places, and having long conversations with strangers who don’t feel like strangers for long ✨️
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The more I have been travelling the more I realized that the most important part for me is the social aspect of the trip.
I enjoy meeting up with people, whether it be locals or fellow travellers.
Locals tell you a story about the placr you are visiting from a perspective you cannot get as a tourist.
Travellers share their adventures and tips and tricks for you own future trips.
Combination of both is what makes the couchsurfing community amazing and myself glad to be part of it 🤗

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music, I would say a little bit of everything (usually techno, russian hardbass and trap, but also rock, metal and whatever is playing in the background - big fan of radio); I am trying to get back into reading, lately all I have been reading were history books (mostly for exams); and movies - everything that one should avoid (romcom, historical drama, sitcoms)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
These have to be the most memorable ones:
- Camping in Kyrgyzstan in -10
- Drinking tea with Taliban in Kabul
But I am saving others for meetup
