About Me
Hello, I'm Ilke, I'm Turkish. I have downloaded this couchsurfing before but never used it. This time I wanted to use it as a different experience.
I try to travel as much as I have time. I have traveled to Cyprus, Macedonia, Spain, Serbia, Georgia, Finland, Estonia and Germany. I have also traveled to many parts of Turkey on my own. I usually travel alone, because that is what feeds my soul.
I have lived in Turkey all my life, I lived in Cyprus for 4 years because of my studies. I currently live in Turkey in a city called Eskisehir, near the capital Ankara.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I usually prefer small hostels or hostels when traveling. Because that's where I find the crowds and simple cultural nuances. Expensive hotels and buffet breakfasts are not for me :)
So, in terms of a different experience, couchsurfing can give me what I am looking for and I can understand the country, the city I am in in a local home.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love rock music as a music genre, but I'm also open to trying different genres in general. Another genre I particularly like to listen to is Turkish jazz. When I work, I listen to classical music. I'm a bit old-fashioned about music, techno and the like is not really my style :)
I like to watch horror movies when I feel depressed. If I am going through an intellectual period, I watch art movies. Especially award-winning Turkish directors. Also, I can say that I watch most of the cult movies from around the world.
As for books, I love poetry. But it is not because I am a drama queen romantic. The literary value of poems is very high for me, so I prefer works with heavy language. Poetry is one of them. I am a bit traditional about literature and my first preference is Turkish literature. But when it comes to poetry, I am interested in Iranian and English literature.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I finished law school, because life is too short to study law :)
Teach, Learn, Share
In addition to my law degree, I have a master's degree in international relations. So I like to talk about international issues and politics.
I also like to talk about different cultures and it is very valuable for me to be inspired. I would be very happy if you could share your experiences and stories with me.
Tasting different foods and seeing different places makes me question my own existence and nourishes me. I attach some philosophical and spiritual meanings to these subjects. After all, we are all familiar strangers :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can tell about the places I have visited and talk about Turkish culture and history. I am also a meticulous and organized person, so rules are important to me. We can share smiling face, conversation and new experiences with you and share new memories.
