Hello, I am currently traveling in America.

Merhaba (Hello), I'm ilyas, I live in Istanbul, I'm a university student and at the same time I work as a volunteer in foundations. I love meeting new people and discovering new cultures.
I am a mentor for young high school students, we do various educational activities and fun events with them. Also I am a big fan of sports ,I have been a licensed athlete in a wide variety of sports branches from wrestling to table tennis. In addition to these, I love to do research on education, self-development, self-discovery, quality life, and I love to share my knowledge with people and leave small beauties in their lives. I also like mind games, chess is my favorite, as well as GO, which is an important element of Jopon culture.
I have also added a lot of photos from my high school and university trips, new people I met (each with a different story:) and student groups I worked with. I am in the social responsibility club of my university where I spend time with children who had to be taken away from their homes (they have suffered violence from their families or are very poor). In general, I am a person who loves to travel. During my high school years and at university, I had the opportunity to visit 2 different countries and more than 10 cities. In some of them I have camped, I have been involved in scouting from a young age and I love this kind of activities, in others I have traveled with an institution I won as a scholarship. In summer, if I am not studying or on a trip, I help my grandfather with field work in our village or work in local cafes in my city.

I'm a Muslim boy. That's why I don't eat pork products. I also don't drink alcohol or wine. Apart from these, I can experience all kinds of local dishes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a local Istanbulite, I would like to introduce the beauty of the city to new people, meet new people, listen to their experiences and learn about their culture. For me, every person is a different treasure and I like to learn and discover the beauty in them. There is no better feeling than helping people and putting a smile on their face :)

Watching the stars in the desert at dusk, away from the hustle and bustle of the city

Injuring my arm in a wrestling tournament really hurt, but I can't forget my somersault in the air :)
