About Me
Hi, I’m Cristian, I’m 20 now, I’m mexican but besides living in Mexico, I’ve had the fortune of living in other countries. Currently I speak 5 languages, and I’m learning Portuguese because in February I’ll be going to Brazil with my best friend to visit our other brazilian best friend kkkk we’re going for 3 months, so I need to learn at least the basics of Portuguese.
I consider myself a pretty calm person; I can be a bit introverted at times, but after a few minutes talking to someone, I can start to open up. I’m someone who enjoys the little things and the things that probably don’t seem so important to others.
⚠️ lol I’m relatively new to this, and I don’t have references for the same reason. I created this account in 2022, but I didn’t use it until now that I’m encouraging myself to travel alone. I want to connect with locals and make good friends, so you won’t see any references on my profile haha because this will be the first time I actually use the app this December.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because more than just asking for a place to stay, I’d love to meet people in the places I visit, make friends, go out, grab a beer maybe, have a good conversation, and generally connect with local people. That’s my biggest intention with this app, to take away great memories and also meet amazing people.
Interests
As I mentioned, I’m very interested in meeting and connecting with local people. I don’t want to be just a tourist who goes to see the monuments and museums without connecting with the locals.
I’d like to meet people, share moments with them, and perhaps build a good friendship along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don’t want to sound like all those people who say “I don’t have a favorite music genre” but it’s true haha I don’t consider myself to have a favorite genre or style of music, I just enjoy all kinds of music. Although it’s true that I lean a bit more towards brazilian funk, pop, reggaeton, and ballads, I’m also very open to listening to other genres.
When it comes to movies, I’m a fan of the horror genre and thrillers, but I also enjoy a good romantic and cheesy movie, a comedy, or a great action film as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’ve been a virtual UN volunteer twice and help young people learn the languages I speak. I’m also a volunteer in a program that teaches English to visually impaired blind children in my city and together with my best friend, we created a plurilingual and pluricultural education program that provided education in the native languages of the indigenous communities in my state, as well as education and access to other languages such as Spanish, English, and French.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m someone who enjoys sharing what I know and also loves learning from others. I’m pretty good at taking care of plants and animals, I’m a person who connects with energies and consider myself deeply related to and integrated with my surroundings, I can teach you Spanish or an indigenous language I speak called Tzotzil. I can also teach you how to cook some traditional dishes from my country, especially from my region, which is the Mayan region in Mexico. Additionally, I can share knowledge about the rich Mayan culture and the indigenous peoples in my state, of which I am proudly a part.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I currently can’t offer you a place to stay because I’m traveling as a tourist, but I can offer you a good conversation, help you with household chores if you’d like, or simply lend you a hand with anything else you might need that’s within my abilities.
