About Me

Hello,

My name is Bo. I’m an 19 year old daydreamer who will finally be traveling the world. I’ve graduated highschool and will now travel for nine months! I love to meet new people, learn about different cultures and make spontaneous trips.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will be travelling on my own which is so exciting but also a little bit scary. I’ll would love to share my experiences, my stories and start a conversation with new friends and people whereas in country where I know nobody. 1+1 bonus to meet new people and have place to stay and learn about the local culture.

I’ve also noticed within my just first month of traveling that The best experiences were with the local culture and interact on spontaneous trips with locals instead of organised tours. That’s what I love about Couchsurfing. An easier way to get in touch with the local community!

Interests

I love sports. I am a runner, bokser and a little bit of a soccer player. (Probably more banging and running than technical skills ;). I love nature and hike in different landscapes. I really love animals. I am very passionate/fanatic about games, sometimes a little bit too much. Mostly card games, party and go, 30 seconds etc… whoever wants to challenge me, I’m down for it😁.
One thing to announce: I’m a vegetarian!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music, pff where to start. I LOVE old souls music like Otis Redding, Bill Withers or Al Green. Definitely some bonfire night songs such as Mumford and sons, the Lumineers or Hozier. In short, I love all kind of music which made me sing/dance along on the lyrics. It’s better to show my music playlists in person.
Movies, my quilty pleasure will be romantic comedies, oops
But i also love based on a real-event movies or crime documentaries. I don’t know, it depends on the situation.
Books: the last book that I’ve read was ‘between the Himalayas en the mountains’ written by Maggie Doyne which inspired me some much. She is my idol after reading it. I’ve also like to read old classics such as 1984, to kill a mocking bird or their eyes were watching god.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-I’ve been to Cambodia with 16 other students to volunteer by building a road and the third floor of the hospital.
-I’ve done the 5- day salkantay trek, approximately 75 km of hiking, to Machu pichu.
-I’ve done volunteer work in Ecuador where I gave English lessons to the small community.
- I’ve traveled in total for 8,5 months around the world and met the most beautiful people!

Teach, Learn, Share

I don’t really know what I can teach. I don’t see myself as someone who already has learned enough to be able to teach. What I can do is share my knowledge about things I’ve experienced during my trip. Share my knowledge about different habits in cultures. Share my interests in music, books and movies. Share my presence.
And ofcourse I’m grateful for the hospitality when I can stay in someone’s accommodation. I have not much to offer but I will definitely do my best to help with all the domestic chores or groceries. Anything to help

What I Can Share with Hosts

A conversation (only in English or Dutch). A hand of help and my kindness.
