Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m travelling for experiences, to meet interesting people and to hopefully gain new perspectives on the world, and myself. I can’t think of a better way to do this that to spend time with people who live in the places I’m visiting.

Interests

My interests are quite diverse and in the last couple of years I couldn’t tell you how many hobbies I’ve given a go. I’ve listed a bunch of them below. I love jamming music with people although I’m not trained and definitely a ‘rock’ musician. Most things outdoors get me excited.

Music, Movies, and Books

Pretty diverse with the music (from folk to drum and bass and everything in between) but roots in heavy metal and 90’s grunge. Movies… The last great film I saw was “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once”. Books: The Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking solo through the Central Australian desert carrying two weeks worth of food.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach beginner/intermediate guitar or drum set. I can teach English and am currently studying a TEFL course. I can share my experience of Australian culture (whatever that means)! Mostly I hope to have fun, learn and grow.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some of my friends think that I spend too much time dwelling on the ‘deep’ things, but this makes me a good listener. I would love to cook for my host. I can share my time to help with household requirements. I’d love to spend time getting to know a host and sharing elements of my experience in turn.
