About Me

Hi everyone, i am Fatih from Turkey.
I'm currently studying Computer Science and I'm lucky enough to be in Poland with the Erasmus program. I absolutely love traveling and have even hitchhiked around Turkey before. Thanks to Erasmus, I now have the time and visa to explore more of Europe. I may be relatively new and inexperienced about traveling comparing to people here but this is only the beginning of my journey.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been to Finland with an Erasmus project when I was in high school. I stayed there for a week, and a beautiful family hosted me in the meantime. That's when I started to understand the culture of hosting, actually. While one day I'd gladly host travelers from around the world in my own home but for now, I am just a teenager who's doing his best to travel as much as he can. However, that doesn't mean I'll use your house as a free hostel. I know the value of meeting new people from different cultures (the Erasmus projects I've participated in taught me that really well). So, if you could teach me something about yourself or the city I'm visiting, I'll be all ears.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a guy who loves music and can listen to anything, but my go-to genres are rock and metal. I really enjoy listening to Anatolian rock and Turkish Psychedelic rock. If you're not familiar with these genres, I'd be happy to introduce you to some of my favorite bands and songs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most memorable experiences I've had was watching the Perseid Meteor Shower with my friends. Since I live in a small village in Turkey, it's easier for us to find remote and dark places. We found such a place and spent the entire night gazing at the sky. We saw around 250 shooting stars that night. Since then, we've made it a tradition to gather every year and watch the meteor shower. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves stargazing.
