About Me

Currently back in my hometown, but unable to host you!
I still would like to facilitate your vacation time in Venice since it should be all about relax!

Here are my suggestions for Venice, hope you enjoy your experience!!! 🥰
I suggest the following stops:
*ABSOLUTELY MUST DO*: https://www.dfs.com/t-fondaco/rooftop-terracebooking/booking/terrace_venice_en.html
Book the terrace in advance before slots run out.

*Favourite place to grab a snack before the terrace* (mozzarella in carrozza and polpette di baccalà): https://goo.gl/maps/kvYneXFw4uCqkYSG7
*Best cicchetti*(highly recommend baccalà): https://goo.gl/maps/6zvsdbGWYaG9Mcum9
*Punta la dogana for beautiful pictures*: https://goo.gl/maps/NuTm33pkv3cHmmeV6
to get there the best way is to use a gondola (!!!!!) to cross the grand canal, one example:
https://goo.gl/maps/9UkPRREL5aptxhwJ8 or https://goo.gl/maps/jpzgmFW1y87DWU949
these don't work after 18:00 and it costs around 2 euro if nothing has changed.
*A place I enjoy looking at*: https://goo.gl/maps/zrnjSL9TkaEmFX9Y9
And well all of Venice is full of hidden gems to discover while strolling.
*Rialto* https://goo.gl/maps/LFKDAoaJ5xXvzLEa7
*A quite interesting bookstore.* https://goo.gl/maps/aQSWJnAeKwnCsdGF6

I don't have many picks for restaurants, pic-nic is my way of choice.

If you would like to visit the islands block a WHOLE day out.
You can book one of those tours you find online it is worth it...but if you would like to be more in control of your time and the activities you do you can totally go without a guide.
A day ticket is the way to go, for busses and boats and it is 25 euro, considering that one way is 9,50 it is totally worth it.
The islands are:
- MURANO (famous for glass work, keep in mind that due to the energy crisis they don't offer free shows anymore, you might have to pay 3 euro or so, and a lot less artisans are dong this all together)
- BURANO (famous for lace production and all those super colourful houses)
-TORCELLO a tini tiny island, but one church and it is spectacular for sunsets at the Taverna.

About me
I recently started working as a research fellow, I cannot call myself a student from Italy anymore.

Still, always looking to what is next!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am quite new to the platform, but not new to sharing and guiding!
I had only heard great things on this platform, so here I am giving it a go.
For now I am finding it to be a simple way to get to know other people and their culture, and make some new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

A good beat goes a long way.
Reading is a new year's resolution of mine every year...but oh well I haven't read a book or something that wasn't an academic paper in over 2 years.
The last movie I watched was 'Bones and all', first movie I ever rented in streaming. Not sure why we decided to do that to ourselves, stimulating movie night nonetheless.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Now this is a tuff one, I do feel like I am a pretty direct reflection of my experiences. Aren't we all?
Still, what seems incredible and transformative at first might not stay with me for very long.
Seen through my lens one of the things that resonates with me the most and helps me center myself when I feel a tad bit lost is thinking of the time I spent teaching to middle school kids.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always ready to lend a listening ear and learn.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My ever developing cooking skills, and a good clean up!
Pizza is one of my favourite things to make, both napoletana and romana. Don't know what that means? Well I can tell you all about it ;).

Surfing the not so recent but blooming (see what I did there) trend of gardening and botany, I have so much fun propagating my pothos and tradescantia zebrina and gifting the babies to my friends. (We take it very seriously, names and all)
For these reasons you might just catch me picking the dead leaves off your house plants and googling their properties.
