Hello, I’m Ecem Gaye, a 26-year-old graduate of International Relations from Dokuz Eylul University in Izmir. I recently started my master’s in Global Politics and New Societies at the University of Milan, marking the beginning of my journey in Italy on October 12. I’m excited to explore the world in my free time from school and work.

One of my hobbies is caving, which has given me the opportunity to participate in many activities within the country and gain hitchhiking experience. During my university years, I was actively involved in Erasmus+ projects. Having worked as a receptionist at a hostel for a year and with friends who hosted foreign travelers through Airbnb, I had the chance to experience just how fun and educational it can be to meet people from diverse cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. I think it’s wonderful when travelers host each other and contribute to each other's journeys in meaningful ways.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to a 24-day camp at 2600 elevation in Antalya in August for a cave we explored during an expedition.and I participated in the final shift of mapping a 560 meter deep cave with a 24 hour shift. We were 32 people in total in the activity in which 6 different university caving clubs participated.
