About Me

Well, I'm an energetic, cheerful, relaxed person. I graduated as a physicist, but please don't judge early :D I like to be spontaneous, be with new people, however in my everyday life it's important for me to have things planned. I spend a lot of time with friends, I really like deep good conversations. My favourite world-changing topics are the evolution of humanity, cultures, people and human destinies. However, if there's too much seriousness, there's nothing like having fun to lighten the mood :) If I want to recharge, sport and nature are the obvious answers for me.

[IDEAS FOR BUDAPEST]
In case I can't host, or just as a support, I collected some ideas regarding Budapest. Check them on google maps, some of them you can visit in a bigger walk in one go, because they are not so far away from each other. So I would search them, save them on maps just to know and decide on the go, but of course you do your on tourist strategy :D

Baths:
1. Széchenyi fürdő (fancy, spacious, https://www.szechenyibath.hu/)
2. Rudas fürdő (fancy, with crazy view to the city and Danube, https://en.rudasfurdo.hu/)
3. Gellért fürdő (fancy, old traditional, https://www.gellertbath.hu/)
4. Dandár fürdő (mainly locals, cheaper, not that fancy, https://en.dandarfurdo.hu/)
5. Lukács fürdő (mainly locals, cheaper, https://en.lukacsfurdo.hu/)

Parks/nature:
1. Városliget (recently rebuilt, really cool and nice, hero's square and a lot of cultural options there, Széchényi bath is in Városliget btw. House of Music Hungary is also recently open there, and quite famous. You can reach hero's square and városliget from Oktogon station by walking on Andrássy street which is a famous street in Budapest. https://ligetbudapest.hu/en)
2. Margit-sziget (island in the middle of the city on the Danube. Really green, not too big not too small, nice spot for walking around)
3. Gellért-hill (Recommend for evening with a bottle of wine. You have an amazing view of the city from there. It is also nice during the day, but in the evening the city lights are nice from there. You really can just wander around (somewhere it can get a bit dark and maybe a bit "scary"). If you need a specific destination check Philosophers garden: https://g.co/kgs/qAB99Bf)
4. Kopaszi-gát (chill calm place in the busy city, a bit to the south, not too big, just nice to be close to the river in green. There are some fancy restaurants. https://g.co/kgs/g8nhk8K)
5. Hármashatárhegy (if you feel more adventurous I recommend hiking up this hill. Amazing views, lookout tower, nice nature with a restaurant on top (https://g.co/kgs/t3mrcGh). So here you really can hike a bit)
6. Normafa (It is also beautiful with views, nice for walking around, less steep and remote than Hármashatárhegy, and a bit more touristy as well. There is also a nice lookout tower, Erzsébet kilátó (https://g.co/kgs/Lf97Rfh). From Normafa you can take libegő, to get back to the city: https://www.bkv.hu/en)

Bars:
A38 (on a boat)
Ponton (on a boat)
Ötkert, Szimpla Kert, Instant/Fogas (big party places with lots of tourists)
Grund, Élesztő (also big places but not party places, many beers)
Ibolya Espresso (good vibes, "smaller", also popular among locals)
But there are a ton... also if you are interested in shady ones, I can recommend. But you visit what's calling you :D

Drinks/Food:
1. Pálinka (most famous hungarian shot, you have to try it, but the less fancy the better :D It is the best in rural areas and not in cities...)
2. Unicum (also a hungarian shot, similar to jager - you often see old hungarians sitting with one beer and a shot of unicum at lunchtime. Which if funny but sad at the same time in my opinion)
3. Kürtőskalács (locals buy here: https://www.google.com/maps/place//data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x4741dc0d10d229c9:0x5155d24d59c43654?sa=X&ved=1t:8290&ictx=111)
4. Lángos (touristy, good one: https://maps.app.goo.gl/XRSZrA9oDeHF1WgL7, for a local one you should go to fehérvári úti vásárcsarnok and on the 2nd floor there is a small shop, you have to search for it, it's quite hidden, but I promise that's really local. Also here you see the local old people sitting with beer+unicum, and you can get very traditional foods, but quality-wise it's not the high end)

Others:
- Parlament
- Terror háza
- Erzsébet tér
- Vörösmarty tér (christmas market with all foods, drinks, gift what you need)
- Szent István Bazilika
- tram 2 (it goes next to the river, really nice views)
- Lövőház street (with really nice restaurants and bars, recommend it, close to a really nice park Millenáris)
- BudapestGO is the app where you can get tickets
- this is fun as well, in Városliget https://mujegpalya.hu/en/home-en/

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I want to understand and learn as much about life as possible. And for that I would like to meet different people and different cultures

Interests

I'm really passionate about learning about the world. That's the reason why I like being with people, talking to people, making new friends. I just like the feeling of connection.
I also love to learn about myself. For me the best way is through sports, which is why I tend to take on relatively difficult physical challenges. That's where I get closest to my limits.
Among many other things, I also love teaching, because it feels so nice when you help someone understand something they didn't understand before, or thought they couldn't understand at all.

Music, Movies, and Books

Regarding movies I'm a Guy Ritchie fan. From music I can enjoy everything maybe except death metal. In case of books, as an example I really like Jenő Rejtő, a hungarian writer

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Once ran 77 km-s
- Walked through Spain South-North in summer (1400 km, 40 days, 40-45°C)
- Slept on Mt Fuji in 7°C on rocks to wait for sunrise
- Hammocked on Kumano Kodo
- ...

Teach, Learn, Share

1. Life is amazing
2. Kindness is not luxury, and we shall practice it more often

Being less deep.. :D Optimism, laughs, collecting good memories. I'm learning to cook, so some good foods maybe (you have to be brave enough:D)
Stories about my culture, my country, basically about that small part of the world:)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Beyond the bacis things (respect, kindness, cooking, etc) my endless curiosity to know and understand your culture and your attitude towards life.
I also can bring energy, honesty, and good vibes. Or at least these are the things others tend to say about me. Liars!! :D
