Hi there!

I'm Florien (26) living in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The past few years I've been working as a uni lecturer and teacher. I'm energetic, curious and optimistic. I love spending time outdoors and I'm crazy about animals -- grew up on an organic farm. Apart from working and spending time outdoors you will find me visiting art house movies, doing amateur theatre and enjoying a good book and some music or drinks.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am pretty new to Couchsurfing but I've always enjoyed the idea so much!
I love hosting travel buddies in my humble home in Utrecht. I often stay with travel buddies, friends or family and usually easily make myself at home in any place.
Why did I not get on here sooner...First off,.. I love hostels and I have mainly been using those for travel. However, as I have a longer trip coming up I also like to get to know new places in different ways - off the beaten tourist track. I love meeting locals and dipping into their stories and feelings about an area to enrich my travel experience and in turn give back in any way I can (cook a nice meal, help with cleaning or animal care and help with English or Dutch language skills, you name it :) )
