About Me
Hey there! I'm a graduate student in philosophy. And I'd like to meet like-minded friends all over the world!
I have an endless curiosity about cultures and people. I'm brewing homemade beer so I'm a beer enthusiast and I love trying all kinds of local beers or new signature cocktails. I like singing, cooking, reading, writing, partying, going to concerts, bar hopping, and meeting new people to expand my knowledge.
I'm a lead vocal and listening to music is basically my meditation. I'm especially into jazz, blues, rock, and indie but I love all kinds of harmony regardless of the genre.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm going to start my first solo trip abroad. Given that, meeting with locals and getting useful information or advice from them, aside from free accommodation would be great...

Teach, Learn, Share
Hello, my name is Debra Elgiz and I'm 23 years old. I'm currently pursuing a master's degree in philosophy in Turkey and I'm in the thesis stage. In my free time, I like to travel and explore new places to expand my knowledge and understanding of different cultures, people, and languages.
I've always been curious and outgoing, and now that I have the time, I want to channel my positive energy into cultural exchange. My main goal for traveling as a solo traveler is to challenge myself and improve my social skills, and language abilities. As a philosophy candidate, I am excited to immerse myself in new cultures and meet new people. I see myself as an adaptable person and I consider myself to be easy-going. I enjoy singing, helping others, and maintaining a positive attitude even in tough situations.
I believe that being a human is akin to being a mirror and luckily I never feel tired or down, and I believe it's contagious! I also love making people laugh with my cheesy dad jokes. While I am confident in various areas, such as cooking in the kitchen, I am especially interested in roles that involve human relations, as I love connecting with new people. I hope to use this opportunity to improve my fluency in English, which is at an advanced level based on my test results, and to further develop my interpersonal skills. I am eager to share my experiences and express myself to the fullest. I would appreciate your consideration of my request and any feedback you can provide. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
