About Me
Moin,
I'm Max and somehow already in my second gap year after finishing high school in 2023.
In the same year, I discovered travelling and did a 3 months interrail tour with a friend, where we explored 37 countries with the train.
It was an amazing time, we met so many cool people, collected a lot of new experiences and survived europe on a very tight budget.
But that was not enough for me, so I worked again for a couple of months and decided to do a solo backpacking trip through Southeast asia for 5 months in total, without ever being outside of europe before. During the trip, I added Taiwan and Japan to the list through recommendations of other travellers. And they were absolute right!
This solo trip is truly unforgettable, I met even more people and friends for life, collected completely new experiences and enjoyed life so much!
But if you started travelling you can't stop anymore. That's why I decided to add another gap year and work again for my next trip to South asia next year.
I love travelling and exploring new places, food, meeting new people and talking about travelling, cultures, life, jokes and everything else. Even though I'm not a party person and don't drink.
I'm always ready to cycle around, listen to good music, read a nice book, go hiking and eat all day (especially sweet stuff). Moreover I build model railways and did archery for 6 years. I was skydiving twice, which was incredible 😁
And after visiting Thailand I discovered the ocean through scuba diving.
While travelling I try not to expect or plan too much because the best things that happened to me, the nicest people I've met and the funniest moments I've experienced weren't planned at all!
Also I think if you want to travel just do it! Not later, right now! Because money comes back, time does not.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started using Couchsurfing when I was on my Interrail tour with a friend in 2023 and we wanted to try it. And it worked great, so I try to continue and someday, when I have my own place, be a host as well.
I want to meet and talk to new people, exchange experiences and share stories of travelling, life and everything else. I also want to get to know the country through the lens of a local since I think you can learn much more that way. There is a great saying: "The people you meet create the paradise you find."
