About Me

Hello!
My name is Juman. I was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. My mother is Turkish-Jordanian, and my father is Palestinian. I speak a little Arabic.

I’m a singer-songwriter and music producer, mostly performing at music festivals and events around Australia. I also work as a vocal coach and run a weekly women’s choir. Alongside this, I work with Desert Pea Media — a non-profit organisation supporting young First Nations Australians through music programs. I’m deeply passionate about this work and feel incredibly grateful for the life I live.

I’m a joyful and open-hearted person who values honest communication — I believe it’s the key to meaningful connection. Laughter is essential in my life, and I’m always up for a spontaneous adventure into the unknown!

I love travelling, both solo and with others. When I travel alone, I feel more open to magical opportunities, new experiences, and unexpected adventures. Traveling with others also brings its own kind of joy — I love the companionship and the unique stories that unfold when you share the road. Meeting new people from different walks of life is something I truly treasure. There’s something about travel that deeply nourishes the soul.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I met a fellow female traveller the other day who was sharing her wonderful experiences with couch surfing throughout Turkey, and it greatly sparked my interest!
There is something very special about welcoming people into your home space. Open hearted hospitality is very embedded into my culture and is something I deeply appreciate and relate to. It is such a gift.
Couch surfing seems like a great way to have a more authentic experience whilst traveling, to see how people really live. It's also a wonderful opportunity to build beautiful connections with other people from around the world.
