Overview
About Me
Hello everyone! I'm Lily Margareth, a 27-year-old Colombian mechanical engineer passionate about learning and teaching. I love languages; I speak English, Portuguese, and understand French.
I came to Australia because I want to improve my English and eventually apply for a biomedical Ph.D. scholarship in the future. My dream is to become a full-time university professor and have a positive impact on the lives of many young individuals.
On a personal note, I define myself as a cheerful and helpful person. I'm always willing to lend a hand and focus on the positive aspects of life. I have a passion for dancing; since I was a child, I've been part of many dance groups and have had the chance to dance in Barranquilla's Carnival, one of the most important festivities in my country.
Traveling is another one of my loves. I adore exploring new places and immersing myself in diverse cultures. I've been fortunate to travel to different cities around the world like New York, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Amsterdam, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, Florence, Venice, Pisa, Bruges, Bello Horizonte, Washington, Philadelphia, and Dallas.
Additionally, I highly value the time I spend with my family and friends, whether it's sharing laughter at home, playing board games, watching a movie, or enjoying the beach.
Professionally, I've had the opportunity to work in various fields, such as engineering in a coal mine, in the innovation department of a gas company, and as a materials science teacher at a university. Currently, I work remotely as a drawing/designer for a Canadian company.
I'm excited about the opportunity to connect with people through Couchsurfing and share unforgettable experiences. I'm looking for the possibility to stay and get to know local life from an authentic perspective. If you have a welcoming place and are open to sharing your city's insights, I'd love the chance to be your guest! Or if you don't have a place available, but can show me around or give me tips about the city, I'd still love to share this experience.
Thank you very much for reading, and I look forward to crossing paths with you soon!"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
One of the things I value most in life is the opportunity to connect with people from different parts of the world and immerse myself in their cultures and perspectives. I believe that every human encounter is a chance to learn, grow, and enrich our own lives.
I'm confident that Australia will be an enriching experience for my personal growth. I think the best way to discover the essence of a country is through the people who live there and having the opportunity to hear their recommendations and advice would be simply wonderful.
