About Me
Hi, I’m Thuy from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam 😊
I’m new to Couchsurfing, but I’ve hosted and been hosted before, and guided international friends in Vietnam—many remain my good friends over time (they are not on Couchsurfing to reference for me, but you can see this in my photos)
I see life as a journey of self-discovery—understanding myself through people, cultures, and experiences. I enjoy simple living, meaningful conversations, and being close to nature. Traveling, for me, is not just about visiting places, but about connecting with people and learning from different ways of life.
⸻
🌏 Experience & Interests
I’ve been involved in different community and volunteer activities in Vietnam, from teaching children in rural areas to participating in wildlife and sea turtle conservation programs. These experiences helped me appreciate nature, community, and the value of giving back.
I also practice yoga and have supported yoga classes, and I’ve attended Vipassana meditation courses, which have shaped the way I see life and people.
I truly enjoy sharing my city with others. I’ve spent many weekends showing international friends around Saigon, Da Nang, Sapa..., and those moments often turn into meaningful friendships, as Mr Tim & Mrs Jenny who from Newzealand and then they hosted me when I travelled in NZ and that was a so memorable trip to me. I also organize trips for family, friends, and small communities—bringing people together is something I really love.
⸻
💼 Work & Skills
I have more than 16 years of experience in supply chain planning. My work has helped me develop strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills—but beyond work, I value human connection and real-life experiences even more.
⸻
🌍 Travel & Cultural Exchange
I’ve had some beautiful travel experiences, including hosted by Down to Earth farm in Kerikeri, and by Mr Tim & Mrs Jenny in Rotorua- New Zealand and traveling with friends from different countries. These experiences made me appreciate kindness, openness, and cultural exchange deeply.
I also have friends from different parts of the world, and we often share perspectives about work and life—it’s something I truly value.
⸻
🏠 As a Guest
As a guest, I’m respectful, clean, and easygoing. I’m happy to follow house rules and adapt to your lifestyle.
I enjoy sharing stories, cooking a simple Vietnamese meal, or spending time together—but I also understand the importance of personal space and quiet time.
⸻
🌿 Lifestyle & Personality
I enjoy simple things like nature walks, quiet mornings, tea, and meaningful conversations.
I’m not a party person, but I truly enjoy deep connections and learning from others. I’m calm, open-minded, and appreciate genuine human connection.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love connecting with people, sharing travel stories, and creating meaningful experiences together. In Vietnam, I often spend my weekends showing travelers around and helping them discover local life beyond tourist spots.
Through Couchsurfing, I hope to experience authentic local life, learn from different cultures, and build genuine connections with people around the world.travel.
