Hey! I am Marie from Italy, currently long time travelling South America. I am a very outdoorsy person that loves nature and I spend as much time as possible outside. I am also very interested in getting to know new cultures and learning how different people live their life. Couchsurfing is perfect for that! I also like to share my own culture and habits with people that are interested in hearing or learning about it.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I think couchsurfing is a really nice way to get to know how other people life their lifes in different places. It is an authentic way to understand how to me unknown cultures work. It is a much more personal way to travel, providing the possibilty to find people you might have a really nice time with and a closer relationship than when "conventionally" travelling. I like to have the concept of sharing in my life!

Interessen

I absolutely love to climb, which I do a lot in the Alps where I grew up, so outdoor whenever possible, although I do train in indoor climbing gyms in between and especially during the cold seasons too. And well I just like most activities that take place outdoor - or at least I am interested in them - like mountain biking, surfing, slacklining... Hiking, like climbing, takes a special notion there, because it is something I so regularly in Italy too and i consider it such a rewarding sport, seeing how far you can simply walk with your own legs. I like that feeling.
I do also love to do other stuff than sports though. I really like to do photography, which I think works super well when travelling because you tend to have such an outsider eye on things and maybe notice angles and objects others would never take a picture of because they are normal in that culture.
Whenever I can I really like to cook well for just myself or friends and family. I experiment a lot with herbs, veggies and spices. I am also super curious to try anything someone gives me to eat and always on the hunt for new dishes.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Ahh hard to pick just one! But this day in this summer was truly amazing: I climbed a beautiful 500m wall with a friend back in Italy. We had slept pretty well in hour tends and where full of energy and morivation. The wall was so nice, a consistent difficulty, stunning view and good conditions. At one of the last pitches a friend accidentally broke out a stone and we decided to throw it down, knowing that noone was underneath us. And we saw it fall forEVER. It was such a weird feeling to see this stone fall so far and realize how high up we were. Yes, I love heights haha

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I can definitly show you how to belay someone climbing ;) apart from that I happily share the recipies of my favourite dishes. I also speak a couple of languages so I happily try to teach any of them if interested!

Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann

I can show you around in the mountains and take you out for a hike or a climb if I have the time for it. I also have a very cute dog that like to get cuddles and come hiking with us. And we have a small garden with a hammok to relax ;)
