About Me

Hey guys ;)
My name is Johannes, I’m 20 years old and I live in Germany, to be specific in Bavaria near Nuremberg. I am studying Natural sciences and sustainability at the FAU university and I try to travel a lot meanwhile. I would describe myself as very social, uncomplicated and emphatic person. I speak fluently German, English and the Basics of Spanish, but I am trying to improve it every day (so I need someone to practice with :))

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet great new people, build genuine friendships, that hopefully last a lifetime. It’s such a interesting experience to share a flat with a stranger and be a part of their daily life for a few days. I want to learn more about your life, your personal values and what you think about life. The cultural exchange is extremely valuable to expand your horizons.

Interests

I really love to to almost anything outside in the nature. Hiking, swimming in a waterfall and explore some secret spots besides the known path.
But I also like sociable activities in town like going in a cafe, meeting people for some beers or going for a walk in a park.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a lot of music genres and I’m always open for new music inspiration. My favourite genres are HipHop and Pop, but also Reggaeton since I visited Latin America. I watch a variety of movies, but my favourite ones are those, who are funny and entertaining , but deliver a deep message at the same time. For books I really like crimes stories and books about self improvement.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I already met a lot a genuine, kind hearted people during my travels, which I am really grateful for. For example Andres in a small town in the coffee Area of Colombia. I was doing a hike through beautiful hills, but it was going downhill all of the time. It was already afternoon and the sky showed, that it will rain heavily soon. Because I was really in nature and outside of civilisation, there was no possibility to call a taxi. So I just walked back, but then Andres surpassed me with his Motorbike and just offered me to bring me to town, because he has to go there anyways. We had a great conversations on the way and talked about the cultural differences and how visiting new places can influence your mindset. He also gave me great recommendations for restaurants, so I could comfortably rest during the rain shower. Was so great meeting you and hopefully see you soon, Andres!

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe, that you can learn and get inspiration from every person you meet. Everybody is really good in something and my goal is to learn as much as possible from other persons. I want to be a Allrounder, that has a bit of skill in different categories, which can be handy in life. It’s very interesting to see the views on life of other persons, how they experience certain things and their opinions on relevant topics. By communicating you can learn so much about the world, you gain a lot of knowledge and you even learn new things about yourself.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am looking forward to great conversations, talking about your/ my culture, the way of living and our goals/ visions in life. If I am able to help you with little things with my current knowledge/ skill set, I gladly do that. Other then that I would like to do maybe a activity together or you show me your favourite place in the area. My motto is: Leave the place cleaner then you found. I highly appreciate, when someone invites me to his private place, so I treat it as my home and with respect.
