About Me

Hey there!

I am always rushing because I am Russian and now I am in a rush to explore the USA. I am an international student, learning more about myself by socialising with people from different countries. So far I have lived with Koreans, Chinese, Americans, Croatians, Romanians, Egyptians and through these people I get to not only see cultural differences, but also figure out why and how they come to be.

This summer I am spending on Martha's Vinyeard, Massachusetts, working in a restaurant and a clothing store. I used Couchsurfing in July when I went to Boston for 3 days to a Justin Timberlake concert and I had so much fun staying with a CS host (we went to a bachata class by the pier with other Bostonians, made milkshakes and talked a lot).

I love traveling! I like planning trips with my friends to cities in my home country and I am usually one of those who organizes the whole trip, starting from flight tickets to sights that we should visit each day. I have been to Kazan, Ryazan, Nizhniy Novgorod, Vladimir, Saint-Petesburg, Moscow, Kaliningrad. I am finally glad that this year I started exploring other countries.

I come from the Republic of Tatarstan. Therefore, I am also a representative of another nationality within Russia. I was brought up in a multinational society and it contributed to my interest for multicultural communication). So I know firsthand what it is like to live with people belonging to different religions and cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I came to the USA for the summer and I would be very glad to meet locals and people coming from different backgrounds!

This summer I have a seasonal job on an island as a Sales Associate in a clothing store on Martha's Vineyard. I would love to explore the USA in a non-touristic way as the best way to learn more about another country is through people. Now the most positive reactions to my coming from Russia I hear from those who knew Russians personally and I wish I could show more people my country not through the perspective of news and TV!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a fan of powerful women.

So, in music I would single out Beyonce and Christina Aguilera.

I would say that Little Women by Greta Gerwig and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, starring Kate Winslet and Jim Carrey, are my absolute favourites among movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 18, I moved alone to the capital of my country from a small town.

The thing I am most proud of is the people that I managed to surround myself with. My friends are the most ambitious and inspiring people on Earth.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I do not have any bad habits. I do not like staying indoors, so I will be very likely on my feet the whole day. I like to create to-do lists when I tavel and I would really like to soak up as much as I can during my stay.
