Chi sono

Hello everyone. 😊

I'm 32 years old and I've decided that I want to travel more, go somewhere on my own and spend my holidays actively (e.g. trekking) rather than passively lounging in a hotel. I want to watch the sun set on the Pacific Ocean, smell the pine trees in Canada, have my feet nibbled by fish (but no sharks!), hear the wind gust in Iceland, taste specialities in Japan and swim in a clear lake in the middle of Finnish forests. In short, to experience the beauty of the world with all my senses. 😊 And since shared joy is double joy and shared sadness is half sadness (e.g. when my shoelaces come undone on a hike), I thought it would be nice to find some new friends.😊

And now a little bit about me, to be honest and open:

- I come from Dobřany near Pilsen (no, I'm not really an escaped patient from the local psychiatric hospital).
- I'm a non-smoker and teetotaler, but I don't mind if others drink.
- I don't have children (but would like to one day).
- I value empathy, humanity, kindness, trust, openness, honesty, wisdom and mutual respect.
- I believe in people and humanity, even if it's not always easy.
- I am sensitive, empathic and selfless, which is both a gift and a curse. Sometimes it's nice to be able to empathise with others, but sometimes I'm moved by every "stupid thing" or experience some situations more than I should. As for selflessness, sometimes that's good too, but sometimes I give myself away for others at the expense of myself and have to say "stop".
- I overthink and everything somehow conjures up different associations for me and I try to see a deeper meaning in everything. The upside is that I have a lot of interesting and unusual ideas, the downside is that I see potential problems where there are none and stress myself out unnecessarily.
- I don't advertise silence (#IspeakTooMuch) and sometimes I talktoofast.
- Rather than small talk, I love debates deeper than the Mariana Trench. I like to philosophise and talk about everything (un)possible, like psychology.
- I'm finishing my MA at FPE ZČU (Czech language and health education) and at the same time I'm working as a secondary school teacher (Czech language and physical education). It is a nice but sometimes challenging job, especially for me as a beginner.
- I like to move (exercise, running, swimming, cycling, earlier self-defence and lately climbing - bouldering), occasionally play something on the PC, read (currently more professional literature - psychology, pedagogy, but I don't disdain the classics either), write (poetry - haiku and short stories), like sci-fi and fantasy (I used to do historical fencing and living history) and find volunteering fulfilling (I currently volunteer at a hospice).
- I have a golden retriever who is a chameleon and changes colour depending on the environment (when he's rolling in the mud, he's a chocolate-dipped golden retriever). I really like animals in general.

And let me give you my favourite quotes that I try to stick to:

- "Happiness is only real when shared." (Christopher McCandless)
- "A man is ready and willing to accept any suffering as soon as and as long as he is able to see some meaning in it." (V. Frankl)
- "You can build a cathedral out of stones thrown in your path." (V. Frankl)
- "Before you judge someone, try walking a few miles in his shoes."
- "Today is the first day of the rest of your life." (A. W. Schaef)
- "We are what is left of us."

Thank you for reading. 😊

Musica, film e libri

I listen to almost everything in music, but it depends on the mood, place, time, season, people, etc.
As for films, my favourite is the Lord of the Rings trilogy, it's perfect in every way and I see more of it every time I watch it.
As for books, I love to read.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I've seen a lot of amazing things, whether it's the beauty of nature or nice people.

Insegna, impara, condividi

I can teach you Czech and will be happy to share my interests with you.

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

(Deep) conversations, shared experiences, laughter, positivity, empathy, humanity, kindness, inspiration, friendship and even mutual support in difficult situations.
And also that one day we'll have something to remember. 😊
