About Me

Hello everyone! I'm William, 26 years old, for the past 2 years I've been travelling around Europe volunteering in different communities and different places.

At first, my aim was only to improve my English and step out of my comfort zone doing different kinds of jobs but very early I realize that it felt really empty, something was missing, and that something was human connection.

I discovered that, however wonderful or disgusting a place is, the experiences the we shared with the people is what really matters. Thus, later on, my focus shifted to improve my relationship with others, to open my self to the world and share lovely experiences with other people. Even if sometimes is a hard, the outcome has paid off, it led me to the most eventful moments of my life.

I'm new in couch surfing and I'd love to meet more people through this platform

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

Music

My taste in music is is very particular, in the sense that I don't usually like all the songs of an artist nor whole albums, for this reason my favourite songs are a miscellaneous collection of very different styles. This may be due to the fact that this selected songs are intertwined with some faint but beautiful memory of the past and they are able to rekindle the feelings of those long-ago gone days.

Some of those songs are:

1. Vast sky and boundless sea - Beyond.
2. In my Life - The Beatles
3. B.Y.O.B - System of a Down
4. First Date - blink-182
5. Aerials - System of a Down
6. Modern Crusaders - Enigma
7. It's my life - Bon Jovi
8. Take me Home, Country Roads - John Denver
9. Desde que estamos Juntos - Melendi
10. La Hormiguita - Juan Luis Guerra

I'm always open to listen to recommendations and, perhaps, if we match and share amazing moments your recommendation will be part of my eventful collection of records

Movies

There's no doubt about that! All (almost) Akira Kurosawa's cinematographic collection. The best of his films and my favourite film ever! (for the time being)

An some honorific mention to Japanese films:
- The Human Condition the trilogy
- Berserk the trilogy
- Mononoke princess
- Outrage (only the first one!)

A very overlooked Spanish films Veronica and The platform!

Books

Mostly non-fiction but that may change soon I want to start exploring more fictional books

One of my favourite books would be The Inner Eye: Social Intelligence in Evolution. Not very well known but amazing piece of work if you want something that mixes psychology, philosophy, and popular science..

Basically I love all books that change my perspective on things such as Manufacturing Consent, that book blew my mind

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba diving among the most dazzling corals in Egypt

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you English and Spanish. People tell me I'm a very patient teacher ;)

I'd like to learn literary anything, but especially blacksmithing or some kind of manual art, something where I can put my mind, soul and creativity on it.. Also poetry, philosophy, science, history, society, in other words anything haha

What I Can Share with Hosts

Deep conversations (I love them!) and travel experiences

Austria, Denmark, Egypt, England, Finland, Germany, Italy, Vatican City State
