Hi my name is Thierry, I'm 41, I live in Strasbourg (East of France) since 2001 and I would be delighted to introduce you to my city and my region Alsace, where I'm born, or to meet you anywhere else in the world!
I've always loved to travel, I lived three months in Madrid in 2008, and three months in London in 2009, I know Brussels (Belgium) and Lausanne (Switzerland) very well, I have friends there and go see them regularly.
I like to cook, and also good food and beer/wine ☺️
I want to live and travel more ecologically. I'm thinking of leaving my apparment in the city to buy a little peace of land and build a small house in stroh. I don't take planes anymore, for a few years, and I've started a one-year bike trip to Kirghizstan in Central Asia in September 2024. I also don't want to go anymore to hotels or Air BnB empty appartments (it's impersonal and prevent local people to find affordable homes), but rather sleep by real people to meet them and share a nice moment with them.
I work from home (I'm really flexible about the organisation of my day/week, depending on the work I have to do) or anywhere where I have my laptop and Wi-Fi (in 2019, I spent one month in Kairo by a friend, working and discovering Egypt at the same time).
I do Iyengar yoga since 2021, badminton since 2023 (no competition but some friendly tournaments), biking, hiking, swimming (although I haven't swum regularly for a few years now) and roller blades.
I like watching movies and séries, documentaries about various subjects. I like horror movies, classics, sci-fy, (dark) comedy, dramas...
I'm rather into electronic music, but I also like french music, opera, world music...
I like to read big novels or travel stories, classics, sci-fy, fantasy, horror...
I have interests for history, science, nature...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to host friends and I feel ready to host other travelers at home.
And as I like to travel a lot, I also want to meet people anywhere when travelling, in order to discover them, their city, their country and culture, to share souvenirs and tips from trips, and why not become friends.
