Hello!
My name is Victoria.
I am Russian and I have been living in Japan for 10 years.
I am a teacher. I teach English, Russian and German languages. I am interested in Chinese culture, history and language. I am a beginner in Chinese though. When I was 8 or 10 years old I saw a Chinese movie with Jet Lee and since then I fell in love with the actor and the culture. I mastered Chinese history at school and dreamed to move to China but, unfortunately my dream didn't come true.

I like travelling and meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used Couchsurfing many many years ago and it was a very bad experience so I quit. A friend of mine recommended me this website just recently and I decided to create an account again.
I think my main purpose of using this website is not only hosting and meeting various people, but also, if possible, making good friends.

I love Chinese history and culture but I never had a chance to visit the country, even though I live close enough. But after visiting Korea this September I decided that I really want to make my childhood's dream come true and in winter I am going to visit Shanghai and celebrate New year there.
I am learning Chinese now, so if it is a place, where I could also find help in practicing, that would be amazing!

I started hosting people and am receiving a lot of requests, so there are some ground rules of staying at my place:
✓ No noise;
✓ No smoking;
✓ No drinking;
✓ Keep a flat clean; since I moved to a new please, damaging, scratching or anything is prohibited otherwise you will be charged for repairing.
✓ I work 7 days a week, so I will give you a spare key to my flat. If you lose it, you will be charged for it;
✓Since I mainly host girls, there are ground rules for men: sleeping in pyjamas; walking around only in underwear is strictly prohibited.

✨ I am also interested in swapping flats. If you live in Germany or in China and want to experience life in Japan, let me know. I will actually have 3 months off from the end of May till the end of August of my main work and I want to try to experience something new. If you live in Shanghai or Hangzhou or any other city which is not far from Shanghai and are willing to try living in Japan for a month, let me know! ✨🥹
