About Me

Hello people, not sure what you want to know about me so I’ll just tell you everything. I am 22 years old, born in Republic of Moldova and studied for 3 years in Republic of Ireland. I graduated in May and in November I start my corporate girl job with Deloitte.

Meanwhile I decided to go on a life changing trip backpacking South East Asia. I am traveling for 3,5 months so far. I met amazing people (one of them introduced me to couchsurfing, shout out to Tom the Traveller), visited breathtaking places and what is the most important (in my humble opinion) I got to learn a lot about other cultures - food, people, traditions. As I am travelling on a budget I volunteered in hostels in Malaysia and Indonesia for almost 2 months.

Everything is fairly new to me, as I was born and raised in a very conservative and non-traveling country. However, due to meeting so many open-minded people my views changed completely (now I don’t want to go back to a 9-5 job, surprise!!)
I am now eager to meet more people and get to know about their travels, life, and dreams. As I am already traveling for 3,5 months I have stories to tell as well! In addition to that my biggest interest, as I’ve already mentioned before, is to get to know the culture of the country I’m in, so if you feel like sharing that with me, PLEASE DO!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing cause someone tried very hard to make me be very interested in it (Shout out to Tom the Traveller). I am in love with the concept of couchsurfing , it is a win win - The host gets an open minded person to spend some time with and get to learn about their adventures, and the couch surfer gets a host and what is the most important (in my humble opinion x2) someone that can teach them about the culture and recommend places to visit!
I truly believe that all people who are part of the couchsurfing community have something to give back, so again, it’s a win win for everyone!

Music, Movies, and Books

I wasn’t really into music when I started my trip, but lately I realised that music makes me feel like the main character in my life (duh?) Even tho I don’t really have favourite artists, if you play the next songs be ready for me screaming my lungs out:
• “Iris” by The Goo Goo Dolls
• “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone
• “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield
• “Ain’t no Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye, Tammi Terrel
• “Have You Ever Seen The Rain” by Creedance Clearwater Revival
• “Trouble” by Cage The Elephant
• “Those Eyes” by New West
• “I Love You So” by The Walters
• “Vienna” by Billy Joel

Told you, main character vibes!
So if you like one of this songs, let’s sing it together (but I have a terrible voice :) , or maybe you can help me add more songs to the list?

Bookses??? I love bookses (I know it’s not grammatically correct, but iykyk) . I don’t think I am able to list the books I’ve read, cause there are lots, but I’ll try to read my favourite ones, so you know if we have the same taste in literature:
• “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austin - I’ve just read it like 2 weeks ago and I absolutely loved it
• “Into the wild” by Jon Krakauer - I hope for a better ending of my trip
• “Call of the wild” by Jack London - masterpiece
• “White Fang” by Jack London - my absolute favourite ( love Jack London in general)
• “Looking for Alaska” by John Green - cried a bit there :(
• “Where the crawdads sing” by Delia Owens - the ending was just WOW
• “A little life” by Hanya Yanagihara - surprisingly didn’t cry for this one, but it was SO SO good
• “The girl with the dragon tattoo” by Stieg Larsson - and I love the other 2 books ofc

Currently reading “The picture of Dorian Gray” by Oscar Wilde, and I desperately need someone to talk to about this book, it makes me feel very uneasy arghhhh.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I’ve already travelled for 3,5 months I have stories I am excited to share. I am a very optimistic and adventurous person, so you will not be bored with me hehe.
One of my green flags is that I can easily read the room and tell what is the person in mood for, so if you feel like your social battery is running low, we’ll just sit in silence hehe :)
