Audrey Habonimana is a passionate advocate for gender equality, a skilled leader, a dedicated environmentalist, and a creative force. Her journey began in childhood, fueled by a deep awareness of social inequalities. This early consciousness has made her a vocal champion for women's rights in both professional and public spheres.

Her leadership abilities were honed through years of community engagement, starting with a youth initiative at the tender age of thirteen. This experience cultivated her problem-solving skills and instilled in her the confidence to drive positive change. Her role as Programs Director at Jimbere Magazine further refined her leadership acumen, enabling her to deliver impactful projects.

A deep-rooted love for nature has driven Audrey's environmental activism. From encouraging her father to plant trees to spearheading the Rutare Initiative, her commitment to protecting the planet is unwavering. Her entrepreneurial spirit is evident in the establishment of Umushinge, a women-led startup producing eco-friendly bricks, offering a sustainable solution to deforestation.

Creativity has been a constant companion throughout Audrey's life. She has expressed herself through music, writing, and games, using these outlets to communicate important messages. Her ability to think outside the box has been instrumental in her various roles and initiatives.

Audrey is also a proud YALI Alumni from Cohort 57, further enhancing her commitment to leadership and community development. Her dedication to creating a better world is exemplified by her involvement in advisory committees and youth panels, as well as her recognition for her work in addressing gender-based violence. For example, the roundtable on climate solutions, organized by Umushinge on August 9, 2024, showcases her ability to bring together diverse stakeholders and drive actionable solutions. Audrey has also been accredited to participate in COP 29 in Baku.
