My name is Beatriz, but you can call me Bea. I’m 27 years old and have a degree in Physical Education. I’ve always been very curious and have had a lot of "road dreams." I love traveling alone (at a slow pace) and (re)discovering both the micro and macro aspects of different perspectives. I started traveling around Brazil to get inspired about what to do with my life (lol). The search for other cultures, landscapes, food, histories, and, above all, living the unexpected with flexibility and good humor is what inspires my path today and expands my possibilities for self-discovery and expression, which I offer back to the world. I find it beautiful when people connect with what is important to them and try to express it. That’s how I want to live my life.

I especially love the outdoors, backpacking, hiking and climbing. I also really enjoy cycling, water sports, dancing, yoga, meditation, listening to live music, and art.
Presence in the way I feed and move my body, is important to me. I prioritize a vegetarian diet (with occasional meat consumption).

Fascinated by the richness of my country, Brazil, but I also wish to cross borders. In constant transformation...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My main goal is to connect with people from different cultures and perspectives. To me, that’s the most incredible thing in life: human beings! I want to learn about you, from you and with you. I also love discovering places where not every tourist can say they have been, these kind of places where only local people know.

As a surfer, I’m very flexible and I’m pretty good at following the house rules. My day-to-day depends on my mood; I'm not attached to plans. I can wake up early to go for a hike, visit the city, and then we don’t need to go to a party if we’re having a great time with friends, doing something fun. Sometimes, I might just want to relax. So, it will be a pleasure to share moments together, but if you can’t go out with me, don’t worry—we can still do great things together and stay in touch.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've been listening to more Brazilian (old) music like Milton Nascimento, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa, Maria Bethânia... But I have fun listening to many music genres, from latin rhythms to techno, afrobeats, jazz, soul, and funk.

Lately, I've been enjoying watching more documentaries about the topics I like.

I love reading, but I don't have any particular favorite book. However, poetry books have been with me lately, and I really enjoy Fernando Pessoa. I've also been reading within the spiritual theme, like buddhist books, for example.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some Brazilian cuisine, language and share info about my culture and country.

I can share my time, good energy, my knowledge about hiking, climbing...

And I’m interested in developing new skills, so it will be a pleasure to learn everything you can teach me.
