About Me
Hi, I’m Jojo, a traveler from Malaysia currently on a working holiday in New Zealand. I’m a manufacturing engineer by profession but also love exploring nature, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures. I’m fluent in English, Bahasa, and Mandarin, and enjoy sharing Malaysian traditions—especially our amazing food!
I’m a hands-on person who enjoys activities like camping, hiking, and exploring the outdoors. In addition to my love for nature, I’m also an animal lover with a knack for fixing things, cooking, and housekeeping. Couchsurfing, for me, is all about connecting with people and creating meaningful experiences together.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m Couchsurfing because I believe in meaningful connections and cultural exchange. It’s not just about finding a place to stay—it’s about meeting amazing people, learning about their lifestyles, and sharing experiences. I love the idea of exchanging stories, skills, and perspectives while exploring new places in an authentic way. Couchsurfing gives me the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and build memories that go far beyond typical travel experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I love acoustic music, classic hits, and acapella. There’s something magical about simple melodies and harmonies that touch the soul.
Movies: I enjoy sci-fi, adventure, and animated movies, but true-story-based films are my favorite. I love how they explore the depth of reality and bring inspiring stories to life.
Books: I’m a fan of comics that transport me into imaginary worlds with unique storylines. I also enjoy reading articles about new technology, science facts, animals, nature, and human psychology—it’s always exciting to learn something new!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing I’ve done is a dolphin swim trip in Kaikoura, where I had the incredible experience of swimming alongside playful dolphins in the open ocean. To top it off, I was lucky enough to see orcas during the boat trip! Afterward, I went hiking around Kaikoura and stumbled upon a beautiful waterfall where baby seals were playing. The day ended perfectly with a stunning sunset view by the seaside—an unforgettable adventure surrounded by nature and wildlife.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’d love to teach, learn, and share during my stay! I can teach or play sports like volleyball, badminton, squash, and even join you for a good hike. I enjoy sharing meaningful conversations about science, technology, nature, and life—it’s always exciting to exchange knowledge and perspectives.
I’m happy to help with animal care or housekeeping and can also share tips from my experiences in fixing things. At the same time, I’d love to learn more about your culture, lifestyle, and any skills or stories you’d like to share. It’s all about creating meaningful connections!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m excited to share and exchange experiences and culture with my hosts! I love discussing technology, science, and innovations, and I’m always up for a good conversation. I can also lend a hand with household chores, house-sitting, or taking care of pets—whether it’s walking them or looking after them while you’re away.
Additionally, I always have a volleyball with me, so if you’re up for a game or some outdoor fun, I’m ready! I enjoy creating memorable experiences, learning from others, and sharing skills in a relaxed, friendly environment.
