Hi! it’s Deniz, 23 yo, from İstanbul, Türkiye. I am a fresh graduate English language teacher.
I’m a friendly and curious soul who loves the sea, mountains, nature, history, good conversations, laughter, and discovering the world through people. I’m playing Jews harp, still a long way to go to call myself a pro one but Im really enjoying it. Also, Ive been journaling for 5 months so far, including collages too. I love turning abstract memories into tangible ones. When its fall and winter, you can see me crocheting some stuff like balaclava, scarves, beanies, but I love to make them for my beloved ones or to appreciate a gift.
I sometimes go to indoor climbing and have high hopes on my potential and hiking… both with friends and solo, I cant describe how I enjoy it.
I worked in independent movie sets; I did theatre makeups, crafted props -both as a short term job and volunteer. Im also into SFX makeup, cant wait to do more projects! I’m still trying to figure out my path, its really a bummer for me not to be every profession I want at the same time, but still trying everything I love to find the best I can do. I believe life is not linear, so Im just welcoming my fluctuations.
I’m clean, respectful, and always happy to help around. If we meet, expect chill vibes, deep talks, and some Turkish food if you like me to cook for you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe travel is about forming real connections. I love sharing stories, exploring hidden gems through local insights, and making memories that go far. I have expectations that this community gives me genuine experiences with people from around the world. Im newbie like almost everything in life, but speaking of traveling, Im trying so hard to go out of my bubble creating my own opportunities. So my mindset is that if I want something from the bottom of my heart, I wont let it slide until I achieve it.
I can’t wait to have a stable life at some point and host travelers from all over the world!
