About Me

Hi! I’m Renata, an architect and designer from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil — currently traveling solo and reconnecting with the world one city at a time.

I’m passionate about social-impact architecture, sustainable urban design, and how people shape the places they live in. I’ve worked on community projects in Rio, collaborated with architects in the US, and I’m now exploring Canada again while preparing for graduate studies.

Traveling has been one of the greatest teachers in my life. I’ve backpacked through South America, visited Peru, Argentina, the US, and lived briefly in Canada during an exchange that changed my worldview. I’m curious, open-hearted, respectful, and I genuinely enjoy meeting new people and understanding their stories.

As a solo female traveler, I really value kindness, trust, and safe human connections. I love sharing meals, walking around new neighborhoods, trying local coffee spots, and having long conversations about culture, music, and life.

I’m easygoing, clean, responsible, and very independent — but always grateful for company or guidance in a new city. Couchsurfing for me is about human connection, not free accommodation.

If our paths cross, I’d be happy to share a bit of Brazilian culture, cook something for you, or simply exchange good conversations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I believe in meaningful travel — not just visiting places, but connecting with people who live there.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a bit of everything:
🎶 Music – from Brazilian MPB and indie to lo-fi and Latin rhythms.
🎬 Movies – documentaries, inspiring travel films, and smart comedies.
📚 Books – I love reading about travel, self-development, and human behavior. A recent favorite: “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking the Rainbow Mountain in Peru — it was a challenging and breathtaking experience that reminded me how small we are compared to nature’s greatness.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some Portuguese, Brazilian recipes, or basic design tips.
I love learning new words in different languages, trying local food, and hearing people’s stories.
I’m always open to share ideas, laughs, and cultural insights.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My gratitude, good energy, and a home-cooked Brazilian meal if you're up for it!
I can also help with basic chores, share travel tips, or even sketch your dream house — I'm an architect, after all!
