About Me

Hi! I'm Michelle, I'm from East Germany and I love exploring the world — especially Eastern Europe.
I travel not just for adventure, but to make up my own mind about places, cultures and people. I truly believe in human connection, kindness and collaboration, and I like breaking stereotypes — especially the ones many people still have about our Eastern neighbors.

I'm very passionate about Slavic culture, history, folklore and pagan traditions. I'm a pagan myself and deeply connected to nature. That's why I often travel by car, camp under the stars, and try to stay close to forests, villages, and ancient places. I also love folk art, local festivals, traditional music and anything that reveals the soul of a region.

I've noticed that many people in Western Europe are cautious or even fearful about traveling to Eastern countries. But my experience has been the opposite..I’ve felt welcome, connected, and free. I want to show others that kindness, peace and beauty don’t depend on borders, and that there's so much more to discover than what media or old views sometimes tell us.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m not just looking for a place to sleep , I’d love to connect with people, talk about culture, traditions, beliefs, life. If you’re into folklore, nature, Slavic history or just deep conversations, we’ll probably get along great!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy almost all music genres, but I mostly listen to bands like Heilung, Wardruna, Percival, and Schuttenbach

Books: Some favorites are Deutsch für Dichter und Denker and White Nights by Dostoevsky.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wild camping in Lapland was amazing — feeling completely one with nature and enjoying the peaceful wilderness. It was a beautiful, freeing experience that I’ll never forget
