About Me

I’m Marta, a creative and open-minded person who has always found in art and teaching a way to express myself and connect with others. I work as an English teacher because I love helping people communicate and overcome their fear of speaking, but I also paint, write, and create artistic projects that allow me to give color and shape to what I carry inside. I enjoy sharing my daily life and telling stories because I believe words and images have the power to bring us closer together, even if we come from different places.

I see myself as warm and natural, someone who enjoys simple conversations, listening, and also laughing. I’m naturally curious and always eager to learn something new, especially when it comes from someone with experiences different from my own. Traveling and hosting travelers feels like a beautiful exchange to me: every person brings a whole new world with them, and I love opening mine to share it.

My home reflects a lot of who I am: it’s a simple space but full of color, small details, and a welcoming atmosphere. Here you can breathe calm, but also creativity and life. Guests don’t just find a place to sleep, but also a space where they can feel accompanied if they want to, chat, practice languages, get inspired, or simply enjoy the quiet charm of Arnedo, a small town in La Rioja with hidden gems and authentic local life.

For me, hosting travelers is a way to keep expanding my world, to learn, and to create bonds that go beyond a short stay. Opening my door is also opening my way of living: with curiosity, with a desire to share, and with the hope that every encounter leaves something valuable behind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet people, share my culture and learn from others. I want to Couchsurf because I truly enjoy connecting with people through everyday life. For me, hosting or being hosted is not just about a bed, it’s about sharing stories, laughter, and discovering the small details of a place that you only see when you live it with someone local. As an English teacher and artist, I love exchanging languages, creativity, and different ways of seeing the world. Couchsurfing feels like the perfect way to open my home, my town, and also myself to travelers who want more than just a place to stay
