I live in the heart of Vojvodina, in the beautiful and tranquil Zrenjanin. Our city is famous for its Austro-Hungarian architecture, its city lake, and the fact that there's never a rush here. You won't find tour guides shoving attractions in your face, but you'll find authentic provincial life, where everyone knows each other.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always loved meeting new people, but traveling is often expensive! I enjoy practicing languages ​​and hearing stories you can't find on Wikipedia. When I host, I'm not looking for a guest: I'm looking for a new friend to share a coffee and a deep conversation with.

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up with old-time music, especially Bajaga i Instruktori (Great lyrics!) and the more ska-oriented songs by Haustor. I love listening to Tambura (the music of Vojvodina, often a bit melancholic and cheerful at the same time) while drinking coffee on Sunday mornings.
I read a lot of contemporary Serbian authors, but if I had to choose a classic, I love Hermann Hesse and anything that deals with soul searching.
Balkan directors: Definitely the classics of Emir Kusturica. Documentaries: I'm obsessed with travel and nature documentaries (they help me dream about my next vacation).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One year, I decided to enter a tambura band contest (the tambura is a traditional instrument from Vojvodina, similar to the lute) just for fun, with two friends who barely knew how to play. We were terrible. During the performance, we forgot the words, but we improvised with a very sad and dramatic sevdalinka, and the audience laughed out loud.
