Hi! I’m Songül, originally from Turkey and currently living in Romania. I studied philosophy and history, which has fueled my curiosity about cultures, societies, and the stories that shape them.

Traveling is my passion—I love exploring new places, learning from locals, and experiencing life beyond the usual tourist spots. For me, it’s about connecting with people, sharing stories, and seeing the world through different perspectives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy wandering through historical streets, visiting museums, trying local food, and spending time in cozy cafés. I also love animals, children and enjoy learning from their unique perspectives.

Interests

In high school, I played basketball, and later I got interested in tennis. Inspired by Indian philosophy, I developed a passion for yoga and meditation. I also took lessons in the Turkish classical music instrument, the tanbur, and nowadays I enjoy charcoal drawing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I’ve been watching Western movies since I was a child, so I’m a true cinephile at heart. At school, I read a lot of philosophy and history books, but nowadays I prefer diving into novels. Music is another passion of mine—I listen to almost everything, from rock and classical to country, blues, and reggae.
