We are a lively family of five: my partner and I, two curious teenagers, and our sweet three-year-old girl. We are based in Herisau and love our life here in the peaceful Appenzell region. We enjoy meeting new people, sharing stories, and believe Couchsurfing is a fantastic way to bring a little bit of the world into our home. Our interests range from exploring the local hiking trails (the Alpstein is our backyard!) to cozy family evenings.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, hosting is about bringing the world into my kitchen. In 2026, it’s easy to travel anywhere, but harder to actually meet people. I love hearing stories from different cultures and sharing a meal or a drink with my guests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In my free time, I’m a true nature lover. You can find me tölting through the snow or galloping along the beach on horseback. I also love surfing and the simple life of wild camping in the great outdoors. There's nothing better than waking up surrounded by nature!
