Overview
About Me
I have spent years tracing history as a professional Archaeologist and teaching nature as a Forest School Leader in private schools. At 47, I am technically a 'young retiree,' but I stay active and continue to work and create.
After years of a busy work life, I have started a new chapter: My priority now is to travel, walk, and explore the world. I enjoy camping in nature just as much as dancing Cuban Salsa on the dance floor! 💃
My goal is not just to see the tourist sights, but to meet new people and truly understand the culture of the cities I visit.
Italy: Rome, Brindisi, Bari, Naples Greece: Alexandroupoli, Kavala, Thassos Romania: Bucharest
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe that the best way to understand a country is through its people, not just its museums.
Since I am starting a new chapter of my life focused on traveling and exploring, I am here to build genuine connections. I am NOT looking for a free place to stay (I arrange my own accommodation).
I am here to find:
Local friends to share a coffee or a meal with. ☕️
Dance partners for a Salsa night. 💃
Fellow travelers to explore the city together. 🌍
I want to share stories, experiences, and good energy.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC: I have a deep connection with Authentic Turkish Folk music and songs that tell a story. I enjoy listening to "Özgün Müzik" (Soulful/Original music of Anatolia). And of course, as a dancer, my playlist is full of Latin & Salsa rhythms! 🎵
BOOKS: As an Archaeologist, I am naturally addicted to History books. Reading about the past is my professional passion. I also love getting lost in good Novels that transport me to different lives.
MOVIES: While I deal with history in real life, I love escaping to the future on the screen! I am a big fan of Science Fiction and Fantasy movies. I love exploring new universes and possibilities.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
"My most incredible experience was working as an Archaeologist for 10 years at the famous Marmaray Excavations in Istanbul.
As a prehistoric archaeologist, I lived the thrill of unearthing Istanbul's deepest secrets. I personally discovered and excavated 8500-year-old footprints, ancient graves, and Byzantine shipwrecks. Discovering these historical treasures underground was breathtaking.
However, I recently made another discovery just as exciting as the ancient ones: Salsa! Starting to dance and feeling the spirit of the rhythm has been a personal revolution for me—a new treasure I discovered not underground, but within myself."
Teach, Learn, Share
TEACH: I can get you dancing! 🕺 I can teach you the basic steps and rhythm of Cuban Salsa. I can also help you practice Turkish.
LEARN: In return, I am eager to learn some phrases in your language or discover your culture. I believe in mutual learning!
SHARE: I am very passionate about cooking and I am confident in the kitchen. 🍳 I love preparing delicious meals and sharing them with friends.
