About Me

After a while, our daily routine started to feel a bit too predictable, and we found ourselves wanting to see a bigger world beyond it.
So my best friend and I spent a year saving money,
and now we’re finally on a one-year journey around the world.

Hi! We are Yongbin & Seongjun from South Korea.
We are complete beginners when it comes to travel, but we’ve decided to take a one-year trip around the world starting in March 2026.

We’ve never been outside of Asia before, so everything feels completely new to us.
We also just joined Couchsurfing a few days ago!

Our travel plan is flexible, but we’re thinking of going:
Europe → North America → South America → Africa → Asia.
We’ll see how things go along the way.

We are outgoing people who enjoy meeting new people and talking about different cultures.
Our English is not perfect, but we can definitely have normal conversations.
We’ve also been learning Spanish for about 6 months, though we are still beginners haha.

We are currently documenting this world trip as a vlog and uploading it to our YouTube channel.
If you’re comfortable being on camera, we might film something together!
But no pressure at all 😊

*We both do not smoke, and we are tidy people who respect rules and keep things well organized.

We also enjoy photography as a hobby, so if you’d like, we can take some nice photos for you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love traveling, but this trip is not just about tourism.
For us, the main goal is to find ourselves through different experiences.

We want to see how people actually live in different countries.
Not just visiting tourist spots and moving on, but truly experiencing daily life.

Local culture, everyday life, and different perspectives —
that’s what we’re really looking for through Couchsurfing.

We hope to make real connections with people from all over the world,
and bring those experiences and friendships back to Korea.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I'm into pop and hip-hop, but honestly I just like discovering new music. Sometimes I go to LP bars and listen to random jazz records I've never heard before - that's always fun. I'm not super deep into any specific genre, just open to whatever sounds good. Always happy to hear your recommendations!

Movies: Love musical films like La La Land, A Star is Born, The Greatest Showman. There's something special about movies with great music.

Books: Not gonna lie, I don't read that much lol

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- we completed 1.5 years of military service in Korea.

In Korea, most men are required to serve in the military
(unless they have medical exemptions).

we also served for about 1.5 years.

So even though Korea has strict gun control,
ironically, I’m actually pretty good at shooting haha.

- I also do photography as a hobby, so I can take nice photos for you.

- My best friend and I are currently traveling around the world for one year.

- We run a travel vlog YouTube channel.
It’s still very new, so the channel is quite small haha.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think a lot of people have the wrong idea about Korea, probably because of what they see in media. I'd love to tell you about what Korea is actually like, and I really want to learn about your culture too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can introduce Korean culture and everyday life in Korea.
Please tell me about your culture and how you live — I truly enjoy exchanging stories and perspectives.
