关于我

I’m someone who genuinely enjoys meeting people from different parts of the world and learning how they see life. I’m currently based in Oklahoma as a PhD student in Learning Experience Design and Technology, which basically means I spend a lot of time thinking about how people learn, interact, and make meaning in different environments.
Originally, I come from Bangladesh, and moving across countries has shaped how I experience culture, language, and connection. I enjoy conversations that go beyond small talk, whether it’s about education, technology, culture, or just everyday life stories. I also love hearing about people’s journeys and what brought them to where they are.
I’d describe myself as easygoing, respectful, and curious. I value shared spaces and try to be thoughtful about others’ comfort and boundaries. If I’m hosting, I enjoy creating a relaxed and welcoming environment. If I’m traveling, I’m more interested in meaningful local experiences than just checking off tourist spots.
Outside of academics, I enjoy organizing community events, playing and watching cricket, and exploring new places at a slow pace. I also appreciate simple things like good food, long conversations, and learning something new from the people I meet.
For me, Couchsurfing is not just about a place to stay. It’s about connection, exchange, and the kind of experiences you don’t get from hotels.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

To be honest, part of the reason I’m on Couchsurfing is financial. As a PhD student, my budget is limited, but my curiosity about the world isn’t. I still want to explore new places, meet people, and experience cultures beyond what I can afford through traditional travel.
That said, I don’t see Couchsurfing as just a free place to stay. If that were the only goal, there would be other options. What really draws me here is the chance to connect with people in a more genuine way. Staying with locals, sharing conversations, and learning from each other makes travel meaningful in a way that money alone can’t buy.
I try to be respectful of the fact that someone is opening their home to me. I aim to contribute through conversation, cultural exchange, and by being a considerate and easygoing guest.
So yes, I’m here because I can’t always afford travel the usual way, but I’m also here because I value the human side of travel just as much as the places themselves.

兴趣

I’m deeply interested in people, cultures, and the different ways we make sense of the world. I enjoy conversations that go beyond small talk, especially around language, identity, and how our backgrounds shape the way we think and communicate.
Chess is a big part of my life. I enjoy both playing and thinking about the game, whether it’s a casual match, analyzing positions, or just appreciating the strategy and patience it teaches. It’s one of those things I can instantly connect with people over, no matter where they’re from.
I’m also passionate about education and technology, particularly how learning can be designed to be more meaningful and accessible. This often makes me curious about everyday interactions, like how people explain things or solve problems in different contexts.
I enjoy traveling slowly, getting a feel for local life rather than rushing through tourist spots. Trying authentic food, exploring neighborhoods, and having real conversations are what make travel meaningful for me.
Cricket is another big interest of mine, both playing and watching. I also enjoy organizing community events and bringing people together.
And beyond all that, I appreciate simple things: good food, long conversations, and learning something new from every person I meet.

音乐、电影和书籍

Music:
I listen to almost everything, but I’m especially drawn to melodies and pop. My taste ranges from Queen to Linkin Park to Imagine Dragons to Eminem. I’m always open to discovering new sounds, so I’d love to hear what you’re into as well.

Books:
I started my reading journey with fiction, and Harry Potter was a favorite growing up. Later, as an English literature student, I explored a range of prominent authors and texts. I don’t get as much time to read these days, but I still appreciate good storytelling whenever I can.

Movies:
I enjoy a wide range of genres, especially thrillers, dramas, and fantasy. Anything with a strong story or emotional depth usually catches my attention.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I got married to someone who loves me deeply, and I love her just as much. It’s the most grounding and meaningful part of my life, and something I’m truly grateful for every day.

教,学,和分享

Teach:
I can share insights about language learning, especially from the perspective of someone who has learned and taught English across cultures. I’d also be happy to teach some basics of Bangla, talk about South Asian culture, or even play a game of chess and walk through strategies together. If you’re curious about instructional design or how people learn, that’s something I genuinely enjoy discussing.

Learn:
I love learning how people live, think, and make sense of their world. I’m especially interested in local cultures, everyday routines, and personal stories that you don’t find in guidebooks. I’d also enjoy learning new perspectives on education, technology, and even picking up new games or ways of thinking.

Share:
I can share stories from my journey across different countries, cultures, and academic experiences. I enjoy meaningful conversations, good food, and creating a comfortable, respectful space wherever I stay or host. I believe the best part of Couchsurfing is the human connection, and I try to contribute to that in a genuine way.

我可以与沙发主分享些什么

I’ll usually be traveling with my wife, and together we try to bring something meaningful to the experience. She’s an amazing cook and can prepare delicious Bangladeshi food for us to share, which often becomes a really nice way to connect.
On my side, I’m always happy to share conversations and ideas. I can teach chess if you’re interested, whether you’re a beginner or just want to play a few thoughtful games. I also enjoy talking about how people learn, and I can share insights about learning strategies or even explain how AI works in a simple, practical way.
Beyond that, we try to be respectful, easygoing guests who appreciate the space and kindness offered to us. We value good conversations, shared meals, and making the experience enjoyable for everyone involved.
