Hi, I am Alex. I am originally from Slovakia, but I live in Czech Republic in Brno. I moved here to study at the university and stayed here ever since.

I am rather interested in Japan and especially the Japanese language (although I am not exactly fluent). My interest originated from my fondness of written scripts and kanji. And later I got to like anime.

I am also developing lingaku.com - a site for learning Japanese.

I also have an interest in aviation (and if I get a chance I'd like to get a pilot license), but for now I am just flying in my home flightsim setup (see the photo).

I love food, especially Asian food. My trip to China was the best culinary experience I had. And Japan gave me its own share of favorable experiences.

Finally, I play the piano. A little bit - I am basically a beginner right now.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I am going for a trip in Japan for two weeks (2026, April 29 - May 11). And besides visiting some of my favorite places and eating my favorite foods, I'd also love to meet some locals and possibly cook some food for them.
