Overview
About Me
Hi, I’m Aye from Myanmar, currently living in Thailand.
I enjoy slow travel, evening walks, café hopping, thrifting, and getting to know places beyond tourist spots. Mountains are my comfort place, and I love calm, cozy environments.
I work in the social sector focusing on women’s rights and gender equality for the people in the conflict-affected areas, so I really appreciate meaningful conversations and different perspectives.
I’m clean, respectful, and easy to host/hosted by. I value personal space, but I’m also happy to share stories or cook some Myanmar food if you’re curious.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m very new to Couchsurfing, but I’m excited to be here. I want to explore the world while I’m still young, and I believe one of the best parts of traveling is meeting new people and experiencing local culture in a genuine way.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy music that matches my mood, lately a lot of Taylor Swift, soft pop, and chill songs I can relax to.
For movies, I like meaningful and emotional stories, but I also enjoy funny and goofy movies when I just want to unwind. I’m also into reality shows and sometimes just want something easy and entertaining to watch.
I love watching slow living videos on YouTube, they make me feel calm and inspired.
I’m not a heavy reader, but I’m interested in books related to social issues, feminism, and real-life stories that give new perspectives. Always open to recommendations.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Completing a 10-day silent Vipassana meditation course in Yangon, Myanmar.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’d love to share my culture and experiences from Myanmar and Southeast Asia, whether through stories, conversations, or simple things like food.
I’m always open to learning about different cultures, perspectives, and everyday life in other places. I especially enjoy meaningful conversations around society, culture, and people’s lived experiences.
I can also share a bit about my work in gender and women’s rights if you’re interested, but I’m just as happy learning from you and exchanging ideas in a relaxed and genuine way.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’d be happy to share stories about Myanmar, my culture, and my experiences working in the development sector, especially around women’s rights and community work. And, I’m very keen to share about what’s currently happening in Myanmar since the coup.
I appreciate meaningful conversations, but I’m also easygoing and can just relax, chat, or explore the city together if you’d like.
Overall, I value mutual respect, good energy, and genuine cultural exchange ✨
