ABOUT ME

Crikey! About me? I'm a Northern Monkey, that's slightly ginger, I can communicate with everybody usually...

I'm quite passionate about the idea of no-borders between countries, I don't like acknowledging stereotypes so much, I expect that most people on here are feeling the same, geography and politics are interesting in terms of experience (highlighting the differences between places and cultures) and telling stories to share, sure, but they don't define you, you're not your country. So I guess I'm anti-nationalist.

Meh,.. people either like me or they don't... but most do ;) (I hope)

PHILOSOPHY

It ain't what you do it's what it does to you

I have not bummed across America
with only a dollar to spare, one pair
of busted Levi's and a Bowie knife.
I have lived with thieves in Manchester.

I have not padded through the Taj Mahal,
barefoot, listening to the space between
each footfall picking up and putting down
its print against the marble floor. But I

skimmed flat stones across Black Moss on a day
so still I could hear each set of ripples
as they crossed. I felt each stones' inertia
spend itself against the water; then sink.

I have not toyed with a parachute cord
while perched on the lip of a light aircraft;
but I have held the wobbly head of a boy
at the day centre, and stroked his fat hands.

And I guess that the tightness in the throat
and the tiny cascading sensation
somewhere inside us are both part of that
sense of something else. That feeling, I mean.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I tend to show people around where ever it I am living and I let them stay at my house, I love the old colony and I try to make sure everyone who comes gets a good experience of it....

In general I put you up for a few nights and if I have enough time from work, I can take you round the town, beaches, bars, clubs, music, sights, touristy things, whatever you want to see and or do really...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

well on my travels I've stayed on peoples couches in Köln, Bonn, Hamburg, Berlin, London, Delft, Vasaa, Detroit, Chicago, Austin, New York, Venice, Bologna, Paris and I'm sure some other places that I can't quite think of right now.

I tend to host more than travel, due to work these days.

All the 'surfers I've had up to now have been awesome and this is a great way of meeting friends who i would have never met normally.

I will teach absolutely everything i can to anyone who knows me (despite the fact they may not want to learn.. .you will have to tell me to be quiet), I love explaining the world through physics. I also have to be told to shut up.
