About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Live and Die perfectly satisfied
ABOUT ME
I love the outdoors and monkey around in it as often as possible. Im a sailor and a pirate. In my not so free time I study biology or work at the library (I like how books smell because its the only way to smell knowledge... age, dust, and mold... mmm...) Good times are a plenty and the pacific northwest is a beautiful place to live.
PHILOSOPHY
I live to adventure, explore, laugh, and learn. The purity of experience unadultered by rational thought is a beautiful thing. I do, however, like to think, or... *ahem*... philosophize... sometimes...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have a couch, a kitchen, a view of the ocean, stories, a mouth with which to share them, and feet to get me places. I will use these to help show people my world and make it a part of theirs.
Interests
Sailing and most anything associated with water with the exception of drowning, rock climbing, mountain climbing, backcountry i.e. most anything associated with really big rocks, trees, sunshine, and even rain (I am half amphibian being from this beautiful though/because wet part of the world) backpacking, meeting good interesting meeting people, learning, doing things I have never done before. Doing things noone has ever done before regardless of insigificance.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy lots of movies. Even bad ones with a side of adrenaline rush or laughs. A few I like/own/recomend are: Koyaanisquatsi, Amelie, Gandhi, The Motorcycle Diaries, The Big Fuckin Lebowski, Dr. Strangelove, Fight Club, A Clockwork Orange, The Matrix, Y Tu'Mama Tambien.
My music taste is what many would call eclectic. New and old. Rock and hip hop. regge, jammin. And if I can dance to it, I am usually approving.
Books are great. Ive read a few. Some favorites: Catcher in the Rye, Waiting for Godot, 1984, Said the Shotgun to the Head, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, A Language Older Than Words, Guns, Germs, and Steel. The Song of the Dodo.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once, I saw the whole world almost within my grasp from the peak of a mountain.
During a beautiful evening after a beautiful and physicially exhaustive day time stopped for 3 hours. I was on a beach alone, a day and a half hike from any people as I watched a heard of white horses gallop in the white foamy chaos of a crashing wave.
The trees in the California Redwoods... are really, really, really big. maybe thats three amazing things... there are alot out there.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love taking people sailing; especially people who have never been. I think this is because I take joy in showing people the beauty of things they have not experienced. Similarly, I like to show people places, especially places that must be hiked to. I love making a positive impact on peoples lives.
